There's just one thing I don't understand. This may sound silly, but how do they know, from afar, that it's really a Rolex / what are people wearing? Let's say, it's a Timex Pepsi, or a Steinhart Hulk, something with a very similar design.

If I wear my "bling" shiny and bulky Casio, will they know from a few feet away that oh, that's a $30 p.o.s, not worth the effort? There are so many nice watches that aren't even close to the cost of a Rolex, but still look expensive. Will they take those, too, assuming they're worth a lot more than they actually are?

I'm the wife. He got into watches first. Studied them, watched videos, made careful- and well thought out decisions, and I caught the fever...hard. He has around 6 watches, I have 17 (which has its pros and cons), however, mine combined don't add up to the price of those 6 😶😆. Safe to say I'm the enabler 🥲.
