Anyone else fearing this may happen?

When you lie about your watches to your spouse, it's not really betrayal. It's self-preservation.

My wife knows exactly how much I paid and I鈥檇 be proud if she can resell it for that price ;-)

I told my kids that when I die and they end up selling my watches, I will haunt them and make their lives miserable

We are all waiting for that moment ...

If she can sell all my microbrands for retail price, I鈥檒l be happy.

Best way to tell them Is that you picked it up second hand for a steel but they are actually worth x amount!

In testament include that watches should be donated to some kind of museum or tell the actual price of them (she can't hurt you anymore).

Mine is similar but in my nightmare my wife's new boyfriend, Eduardo, sells them for more than they cost me.

I tell my wife, if she asks "is that new"? No, I've had this for ages, just don't wear it that often.. 馃檮馃槼馃榿. I've promised myself that on my death bed ill tell her not to worry about funeral costs just sell a couple of watches 馃ぃ馃ぃ

It鈥檚 already begun 馃槺.

I am willing to pay that 馃槈

Good luck. I mean like selling for what you paid?

Almost all watches are like used cars; not near the original MSRP on resale. 馃槈

I don鈥檛 think I鈥檒l mind when I am dead.

A man who thought of himself as my best friend and mentor, senior VP in the company where I found my first decent job as an adult suddenly passed from a massive coronary in his GP鈥檚 waiting room many years ago, his affairs were in a riotous state. His common law partner started to sell off many of his collectibles after finances became challenging. She eventually reached out to me to assist with his watch collection which was quite notorious with a cohort in the city, she hoped to sell but there was little or no interest in his stash of vintage pieces, especially a Rolex that was certified as museum grade by some authority in Switzerland that my old friend employed to verify authenticity. The watch was Franken created in the workshop of a veteran watchmaker who famously serviced Pateks after he emigrated to Toronto. I have no idea what became of that watch, perhaps their daughter wears it.

My wife understands my watches for what they are, expensive toys, purchased new with courtesy discounts that lost a ton of value after I left the ad鈥檚 shops. Hopefully she will just allow my watches to gather dust if I am no longer around to enjoy them.

After I'm dead, people can give them away do whatever they want ........ even play football with my head.

Exactly. Because we are not around to miss them. Watches are toys with a declining audience. I have no illusions as to what will lie ahead when we are gone for these tools.

I hope only one of you is left-handed, so at least he won鈥檛 be able to use your golf clubs!

Someone should come up with clinic terminology of this new fear!

Rolexoratiophobia and Chronophobia already exist maybe Collectorschronophobia or watchchronophobia.

If I died, I am no longer to do anything anyway. The important moment is what have done when we alive.

Fear of spending money - Chrometophobia.

Fear of time peaces - chronomentrophobia.

So, it might be something like ChrometoChronometrophobia....

How about ChronoFOSO ? Chrono (something time related) and FOSO is fear of selling out 馃榿馃槀

Apparently I traded for all of mine with stuff around the house (sort of) hopefully they don鈥檛 go into a local yard sale.
