Fun Watch Friday - rebel scum edition
Happy Friday crunchers. We're rolling into the weekend with this great little piece from Nixon. It the brand's Time Teller Deluxe x Star Wars in its BB-8 iteration.
The subdials are modeled after BB's equipment ports, a very cool touch indeed. All the colors blend in well, with the second hand having a slightly broader head which in my opinion is representative of BB's photoreceptor. That's what I like to think anyway. Although the black crown against the silver case suits that representation better.
The original bracelet the watch came with is great, but I had to swap it out for this perfect match two-piece NATO strap from Clockwork Synergy.
The case back is etched and machined to give it a sunburst effect. It displays BB-8 in motion and the quote "THAT'S HOW I ROLL."
Overall, a well executed watch by Nixon and again with excellent attention to detail. And while my allegiance is to the empire, I'll gladly wear this watch, simply because it's so cool.

I love Nixon as well. They're well made. Solid pieces, in my opinion. The Dork Too is a badass watch. How can you not love it? Look at it.

Thank you! Horology should be taken lightly in the sense that fun things can be done with timepieces. I don't think I'll ever grow up. What's the fun in that?

Thank you! Nixon is a cool brand. A fashion brand, surely, but they have some quality goods. Check them out. They're always doing some kind of collaboration or theme. The current one is the Grateful Dead.
