The citizen is great

That Promaster is tough to beat.

·

Odd comparison but as much I love the eco-drive citizen divers, the Casio royale what it offers for the price is unbeatable.

$30 for a watch with world timer, great legibility, quick glance time zones, perpetual calender, stopwatch, timer, 5 alarms, 100m water resistance (yes, you can take this swimming and it will be fine...saying from personal experience) and a 10 year battery life. Its hard to beat in terms of value and the features.

The Promaster is cased in Thailand, I believe. That said Citizen seems to have better QC for now.

·

Its a tough choice. If you're a frequent traveller, the casio is a great choice. As what @nightfury95 mentioned, its hard to beat in terms of value and features. Heck, you can even upgrade to a stainless case to spice it up and make it tougher.

Of cos, that would mean you'll be spending much more than the watch for just a case. Lol. But to each his/her own if you think its worth it.

Casio would be for me no question. The Promaster is too big.

Beyond that, I just love the Casio's design and there are a lot of cool features.

I have mine modded with a SKXMOD stainless steel case with sapphire to achieve a good build quality.

I didn't expected when I bought my Casio Royale that it would have such a wrist time. I barely touch any other watch of my swiss collection.

I bought it actually for vacation.

But due to it's comfort and functiobs I wear it all the time.

Whfn I'm desk working. Slmost not noticeable at the wrist.

When I'm caring and playing with my three little kids. I'm not afraud to hurt them or scratch the watch.

It's accuracy as a quartz. Very practical.

And the function:

  1. Perpetual calendar
  2. Chronograph
  3. "GMT" 4 different time zones to be chosen from dozens. Dual time visualized.
  4. 5 Alarms to be set
  5. Timer, countdown etc
  6. 100m WR
  7. 10 years battery
  8. Good light
  9. Very resistable
  10. For less than 30 bucks

The only thing I miss is being solar powered.

But in general it is a one and done watch

I suspect I'd tire of the Casio face being largely devoted to weird stuff. I'd probably prefer it on the wrist, but I'll opt for the one that looks more like a watch.

·

I like both far too much, though have yet to get either. Sensibly, it should be the dive, but the Casio Royale is pretty much the true zenith of digital watches, arguably even over a G-Shock, though it is close.

·

Pfff hard call. I'd go for the Casio just based on the sexy looks.

·

Realistically speaking, both watches are relatively affordable enough to just get both.

But if I had to choose, I feel like I would trust the Citizen to be more durable and robust in the long term. For me, there are more situations where I would prefer to wear an analog dive watch than a digital watch.
