I already have a Certina DS Action Diver so have to choose that, even though I do love Sinn. The Certina is a fantastic watch with great specs and a great price.

This one is not even close.  Sinn 556I all day long.

The 556 is by far the better watch IMO.

I have nothing against the brand, the specs are good except maybe the 19 mm lug width, but the Certina DS Action Diver is too clearly for the guy lusting after a Submariner that he might purchase in 2045 if he's lucky.

The Sinn is its own thing.

To scratch the classic divewatch look itch, check the Casio Duro MDV-107

Then it must have been an accidental purchase, I have no submariner intentions whatsoever 😉

The Duro didn't make it through the first round, it was a close one though

I really don't like this Certina all that much, just more than what it keeps going up against. The pips and all are less depressing than the stark flat hashmarks on the Sinn.

The lesser of two evils 😉

I've never seen a Sinn in person, but the Certina is too close to being a Submariner homage. So +1 for the Sinn.

·

Which one could be a dress watch?  The Certina just fails on flexibility for a one watch collection and I am much more likely to find myself in situation where I need a dress watch versus a dive watch.

·

Wow, that is a bit of destruction by Sinn.

Yeah the Sinn destroys every opponent 🤷‍♂️

I have had a Submariner14060,a Yachtmaster 168622 and a Certina DS Diver and they’re all their own thing and I enjoyed them all the same. There may be some that get an ‘inferior’ watch to make up for not having their ‘grail’ ur there’s plenty that just appreciate the whole range available without looking down on anyone else.
