Plans change, don't they?

Hi everybody,

My plans for 2023 have changed massivly, so i have a need to share it and the consequences they will have of my plans for my collection in 2023.

So my original plan was to buy the next watch this year in november.

Let's be honest: It won't work.

This year a 5 months bussines trip across ireland, switzerland and the caribean islands was planed and so i wanted to buy the next watch after my return. Well those plans changed massivly. The trip still is ahead, but i don't really know, where i will end up at the end of the day. I tried everything to realize it, but sometimes things don't work out like you wish, but that's fine as well. It will be an adventure anyway and i'm already looking forward for it. So that's the first change.

Another big change is, that i will probably return to Munich to my old beloved family of a team again, probably only for a week or two, but i shall return! I really didn't thought that i would go there this year, but i love it and hopefully it will happen soon.

Another big idea that just bursted like a bubble was my plan to lift my collection up with 2-3 peaces within the 3000-8000€ range.

Bare with me, i will tell you why.

First of all my professional future will hopefully include a lot of travelling in the upcoming years and i don't want to worry about my expensive watches while being abroad.

On the other hand i actually still want to have a great value for my money and you find the best value for money pieces in the 100-2000€ market.

I also already have all the watches i "need" in my collection , namely a proper dive watch, a dresser, beaters, a few everydays and some rare pieces aswell.

So now it's time for me to go a bit more crazy, still looking for excelent quality, i want to buy peaces that i love and which make me happy and peaces that are different while not having the need of checking the specs on my radar.

Don't get me wrong, i love all my watches, but now all boxes are ticked and i have a watch for every ocassion, so now i can go wild.

My number one priority will always be quality, but my second priority,as already mentioned is that i don't want to worry about my watch because of the pricetag it carries.

I also admit that i care for a proper reputation of the brand on the dial of my watch on my wrist. I don't mean the rolex-ish thing. It's important to me that a brand has tradition and reputation, but thankfully you can find that for very little money as well: Casio, Gshock, Tissot, Hamilton...

Speaking of Hamilton, i basiclly rediscoverd the brand recently. There are a few pieces on my list for the future, including some really extraordinary ones, which basiclly nobody ever talked about - yet.

So looking forward to collect more pieces i love, i already placed my reservation on two newly released variations of a watch that i already own. But i can't help myself it is indeed my favorite watch by far. Maybe somebody wants to guess😂

Well, 2023 seems to evolve as a suprise for me and i'm open minded and already exited to go through it.

Cheers everybody!🥂

May I suggest looking at a Christopher Ward Bel Canto. You said you wanted to go wild, and it is a wild watch, but at a somewhat responsible price.

Hi there! The Bel Canto is a watch witch is on my radar, but i want to stay under 2000€ MSRP for at least this year😉

But sure, maybe next year!

With all that traveling, maybe you should consider a GMT. The new Tissot Seastar GMT is really nice, but it's a big watch, so I'm not sure how you would feel about that.

Bullseye again! I've been looking at a few gmt watches and i absolutly love the new tissot seastar gmt, it is also the same size as my seastar 2000, so no problem for me. Unfortunatly i can't get it in Germany, because its a limited availible us market edition😐

Well damned, I totally forgot about that. OK. One last attempt. https://www.christopherward.com/int/dive-watches/C60-Anthropocene-GMT/C60-42AGM3-S0KW1-B0.html

My collection don't follow any plans and grow actually spontaneously, within two limitations...

Any new watch must first be truly delicious AND then cost under 280 euro!

And I don't care if some are of the same type... Because it feels good to wear different chronographs / beaters / divers / skeletons / dress watches - different days, for example...

So I just bought 5 new, this year and I will maybe buy none, the next 22 years...

Yes, I didn't buy any watch between 1985 and 2015 which are 30 years!

Hi there, well they are, but i love Tudor.

I handeld the Blackbay Pro, which i really considerd, but it's probably not the watch for me.

I'm silently waiting for a Pelagos 39 GMT, then i would definitvly reconsider😎

Great watches of yours!

Pick up a Hamilton Khaki Field King. For $500 you will not be disappointed. A 40mm proper automatic field watch on a steel bracelet, with most of what you need for travel wear, unless you plan to do some diving. Cheers!
