NWA: My first Hamilton
Hi watchfam, i wanted to share todays purchase.
So i was waiting of a bigger tax refund for a while and of course i decided to take a bit of it and reward myself with a new, so spoken "free" watch. I was not planning anything with the money so i see it as a kind of bonus. Nice to have, certainly.
The watch i got is the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical in 38mm on the Natostrap and it rounds up my collection really great. It is my first handwound and my only no date and my only field watch as well. I also like the history and the fact, that it is a real classic in the watchworld beeing around since a long time. The design is simple, yet perfect and looks and feels just right. The box is really premium with it's solid wooden design, too.
I'm normally not into field watches but this one is just fantastic. So i'm really looking forward to bring it in the national park Bayerischer Wald, just around the corner for walks and hiking. Who knows, what adventures i will have with it, but i am really looking forward to them.

Thanks! I liked the original nato but the only thing that bugged me about the otherwise perfect khaki field was the wide gap between the case and the lugs. For some reason I found it seemed to reduce the time I spent wearing it. Somebody else here posted the mechanical on a bund and I bought a similar strap and now it gets a lot more wrist time. I've become a bund convert in the mean time!
You are welcome! Everybody has their own preferences. I really like it on the nato and the gap doesn't bother me at all and i love the quality of the nato strap, it's superb😎

The Khaki Field is a complete strap monster.
I like to wear mine on the gorgeous NATO straps from Lorier...
They also work well with an NDC...
Or you could go with a rubber strap if you plan to get some water action...

I saw the Reverso Chrono at Watches & Wonders...such an amazing watch...I've ordered the gold reference...have to wait until the end of the year for it to be finished...will make a good Christmas present...

I am switching to no date (window) options for all my watches...
I like my watches with the datewindow, but the khaki is a really refreshing watch without it. Go ahead, do what makes you happy and i can absolutly understand your decission. A dial without a datewindow looks way cleaner👀
Lovely looking watch I’ve been tempted by a few times. It looks great on all straps but my favourite is on a nato strap going for a walk or hike. Congrats and enjoy!!
