New Axios Tribune Review

If anyone wants a closer look at the latest from Axios, here you go.

So what do you think of Sector dials in general?  Do you like the complex design, or is it too busy for you?

Great review! Axios is a brand that has been on my radar for a while, although I have yet to purchase one. I think the Tribune would be a nice addition, but I am not sure about the salmon dial. I do like the Miyota 9000 series movements as well, and I believe the price you have listed for tier 1 would be the lowest price for a watch with a 9000 series movement.

None of what follows is intended as criticism of your review. Our tastes, and therefore our opinions differ. So, when I say that you are wrong, I mean it as "here we differ" and that you are categorically wrong.

The case is the worst part of the watch, not the best (see, this the "you are wrong" part). It looks like it was meant to fit a bezel that did not make the final product. The blend of polished sections and brushed sections doesn't serve to highlight anything. There is a mismatch between the dial and the case.

I like the dial more. I agree that the name make be better if it were the logo instead. A change of fonts might also dress it up a bit. I like the texture and the sector dial. I think Vario did this sort of thing better a few years ago, but it is nice to see that design style trending. You are right about the crown (the least important part of any watch as long as you can grip it).

You are right about the strap.  18mm is ideal for my perfect sized wrist. It requires little or no taper. For a summer sausage wrist like yours a taper is necessary. Hopefully, they will fix that.

I don't see myself in the market for this watch although I appreciate what they are trying to do. Thanks for the review.

I feel like the dial and the case are mismatched, the case seems more suited to a dedicated sports watch, and the dial seems like it would be better suited on a dedicated dress watch.

That looks a lot like my Vario Empire.

I wish they had gone with a thinner bezel if it is shooting for a dress watch. Also, I agree the hands could be a smidge longer. Can't wait to see the other colourways.

I was on the fence with the salmon dial but after seeing the graphite dial version I am definitely interested to see what the other dial options are

The Graphite version from Dave looked interesting.  Axios really needs to get them up with better photos on their site.  Or at the very least on some good shots on instagram.
