New Upcoming Upgraded King Seiko Releases Finally Worth It? + 45KS reintroduction!

I want to discuss the new 44KS upgrade and (what looks like 45-8010 KS case reinterpretation). First, they're going to be receiving 4Hz 6L movements - an upgrade from the 3Hz 6R which should have never been featured above the Presage lineup imo. The first two images are the new 44KS cases.

I think if these are non-limited and retail at the non-limited 44KS pricepoint of around $2000, I think they're now worth it with the slimmer, higher beat 6L movement. Any KS for $3000 should be either limited edition, or feature an older (but more accurate) 4Hz entry level GS movement for the price to be justified imo. Do you think they're worth it with these changes?Next, here are the new KS case models, which I think are reinterpretations of this 45-8010 KS case (last image).

I personally loveee the purple and teal textured dials (of course the white is classic) and the new bracelets look cool but I have one major gripe: WHYYY doesn't this new case reinterpretation carry over the dial design (with the applied "KS" emblem above 6 oclock in particular)??? That was one of my favorite design components from the vintage pieces - I wish they'd bring it back, especially considering that's how it's supposed to be for this case. They're carrying over the 44KS logo to this 45KS case (probably because it's cheaper for them to do so) but that really bothers me.

Anyways, what price do you think these should come in at for them to dominate, especially with the 6L being dropped in them? What's the most you'd pay for them? And what are your thoughts on the new case/ bracelet?

Dream price point would be $1700 with this movement.

I鈥檇 buy the current ones for about $1000 to $1200 more or less.

They are already extremely well finished for the price, just need a little better movement.

Either way I鈥檓 really drawn to them and might trade in a couple of Orients to get a silver dial one of the older variant.

These new ones look cool though so I鈥檒l be tracking. Are you just speculating the prices or was there a leak? Sorry if I missed it I鈥檓 half awake and it鈥檚 midnight here lol

I happened to be wearing one of my vintage King Seikos today, as a matter of fact. Among other things, I'm a big fan of the old KS badges and I wish they'd bring them back for the new releases.

I was eagerly waiting for the 45KS re-issue since it's my favorite of the line and I couldn't be more let down. This case is bigger and more round than the 45KS and doesn't have the same elegance at all. Not having the applied KS logo at this price point is cheap of them. And this handset is criminal.

They already cheaped out on the 44KS by using the Presage line polished dauphine hands instead of the GS-style brushed flat dauphines that they reserved for limited editions priced higher. Now this... Sigh

Why Seiko?

I wish I had more info on the release date and prices. Im hoping theyre the same price as the current non-limited KS models (like 2kish retail) rather than closer to $3k in which case its probably better to just look for a quartz or used GS

The newer 44KS releases have (and these upcoming ones will have) the proper hands. The case you see is actually a classic one too. I doubt theyll ever release a KS with the 45KS case because its too close to the 44GS redesign and thus would reduce how special those GS models are. I really hope they do tho the 45-7000KS really is one of the best cases of all time

also the handset on the new design is taken straight from the classic one too. you can see the classic watch if you open the last image I posted.

I couldn鈥檛 resist and bought one 2 months ago. Can鈥檛 get enough of the case design.

Yeah I figured they would never do a 45-7000 series case because it's the same as the 44GS and that would make it too accessible. It's just a shame to tap in the KS history and purposely stay away from fan favorites for financial reasons.

I frankly don't care for the baton hands on these new 45KS. They should have been dauphine hands like the 7000 series. But again, that's another overlap with the GS hands they may stay away from.

At least the new 44KS have the proper hands.

Ruined it by putting the date back on it 馃槶

I鈥檝e always loved the KS revivals. I鈥檓 glad to see them adopt the 6L but even with the older movements the case and bracelets justified the (real-world/posr-discount) price. Not crazy about the dial colors but love the new cases.
