I love this place!
I fell out of love with social media a while back and haven't posted on FB, LI, IG or anything else for ages. The platforms can be so toxic and vacuous.
Then I found WatchCrunch and have found my tribe. What a cool place to hang and geek out! I look forward to emerging out of social media hibernation just this once.

I still have fun with IG (I like to post watch pictures), but I left Facebook years ago. I found FB to be addictive and toxic. I left and never regretted it.
WatchCrunch is a very odd place. I've never seen an online community where:
Most everyone is highly articulate.
Most everyone is very civil.
Most everyone doesn't take themselves too seriously.
Its not perfect but @Max and team have done a really good job filtering out people who don't really want to be a part of a community.
This place is nice. I like this place.
For me the platform is simple to work with. The community is great too with a mixture of new and old collectors.

Agree, the moment I found myself getting annoyed as soon as I read the first couple of posts on these platforms I knew the problem was only going to be solved by me taking control rather than wishing folk were 'better'. Have to say though, of all the platforms, IG was the most friendly by comparison.

The last time I was on Reddit someone was bragging about how they managed to finagle another submariner out of their AD and about how much money they were going to make flipping their old one. You can imagine how that comment thread went.
Here, you have folks going deep on vintage timexes or g shocks. People competing in one watch challenges or trying to out do each other by auctioning off watches for charity.
Non representative of course but I know who I'd rather hang out with 🤷
