Hamilton Khaki Automatic 38mm vs. Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic

Another poll! So I've decided to drop the idea of getting an integrated metal bracelet watch as my daily driver and have started leaning more towards something with a leather strap. In relation to my previous poll, the problem with the Yema Wristmaster is that its kinda chunky and doesn't have either micro-adjustments or half-links which is ridiculous, and despite the Tissot PRX having an amazing bracelet, it doesn't fit nicely on my wrist. So after ditching those options, I've narrowed down my new options to two; Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic and the Silver Dial Hamilton Khaki Automatic 38mm. They both have awesome specs, look great and seem like they would be very versatile. The Hamilton fits like a dream on my wrist despite its longer 47mm lug-to-lug and I can only imagine that the Nivada would also fit great with its 44mm lug-to-lug. I guess my last question would be if anyone has experience with Nivada Grenchen. Thanks!

For reference, here’s how the Hamilton Khaki Auto 38mm (Black Dial) fits on my wrist.

I have never loved the two number tracks on the Hamilton. I have one of the 38mm mechanical watches and they’re quite nice, but I think I’d rather have the Nivada as an everyday wear.

Go Nivada Grenchen, I'd say. Yes, you lose out in the power reserve but it's easier to service.

Go the Nivada, I purchase mine last year - I have the green lume as it is the earlier model of last year it has the smaller crown but with 200m WR. It wears true to seize with the short 44mm LtoL length - it makes it a versatile watch especially with a clean black dial . It wears well on smaller wrist - like my self with a 6.25 inch wrist. It is is easy transform the watch with different bands eg BOR for a classic 70's / explorer look, tropic strap makes it more of diver sports. I currently wear mine with a Artem classic waterproof sailcloth strap which gives off the watch as slightly more a dress watch. Question is do you go the 369 version or the indexed version or wait for the 36mm version !!!

Are they releasing a 36mm version?!

There was an instagram post on Nivada's page in which the question of 36mm was asked the response was they are working on it for end of the year!

Awesome! I found the post here. I was about to pull the trigger on the 38mm last week. Thanks for the heads up on this! 🙏

I have the 38mm and you can't wrong with that either, a good robust watch. I wear it with an Artem waterproof sail cloth.

Can you share a pic? Curious to see what dial and strap combination you went with. I saw you mention the green lume... Assuming black strap?

Yes so I have the black Artem classic sailcloth strap 20mm in short length with black stitching. Comes also in grey stitching and they also have a blue sailcloth too. All lug widths have multiple lengths to choose from except the 19mm comes in one length. The strap has a rubber backing - so I swim in it, wash dishes, shower etc - that's what it is built for anyway!

So I am wearing my Super A on approx 6.25inch wrist (slightly under that size). My Super A has green lume indices and is one of the earlier re - releases - note the smaller crown, the Water Resistance (WR) is 200m.

Here is a couple of shots, with one next to my 37mm Aquastar Deepstar 2.
