The worlds most expensive Tiger Concept

This is probably the worlds most expensive #tigerconcept watch. It´s started as a #rolexexplorer2 inspired build 2,5 years ago when I new much less about watches and especially automatic movements. However, the dial was disapointing and the bezel insert actually fell out.

So I sent it to @swedmod for a dial and insert swap. Lars did a wonderful job with the insert but as I choose a cheap chinese clone movement I had a hard time finding a nice dial. So I had one custom made in the UK. This was during the pandemic and it took almost six months (!) before it arrived. It looked good but the manufacturer had misaligned the date window. Another dial was being made, several more months passed and another dial finally arrived. And another disapointment.

By this time, Lars had had the watch for a year or so, so I asked him to send it back. After searching high and low for another dial I said to heck with it and delivered this black dial from Tiger Concept which looks great. The story doesn´t end there.

I can´t put a watch together due to an annoying eyesight issue. A close friend of mine had by this time started tinkering with watches and said he could do it. But, being a novis, he unfurtunately broke the movement. I took the watch back, ordered another movement. And another friend, Erik, offered to help. When the watch arrived to him, the lume of the seconds hand had fallen of in shipping......

By this point I was determined to finish the project. So, another hand was ordered and Erik masterfully put the watch together and even calibrated the movement. And now, it´s finally finished and the ultimate reminder not to cheap out when buying a watch nut to save up for the real deal. Looks good though 😊
