Lost & Found Baume & Mercier

Watches always tell a story. For my twin bro and me, this was a gift…literally at the death bed of an uncle who was always our supporter, mentor and guide.

This watch, although a quartz still tells the time perfectly. We pulled out the battery so that we will always remember the “time” which he passed this to us.

Sad, sentimental and historical. Somehow, I feel it’s 2023 over 10 years. Let’s start using it and let go of the past.

Let it live to fight another day in memory of a great man. What are my WC family thoughts? Any one know what model this is and its history?

Totally gotta use it! Revive it and make him proud.

Love this. Watches are a legacy...but gotta look to the future.

Absolutely wear it and use it.

I have a Longines cal. 280 circa 1968, that belonged to my late uncle. I will be wearing it as soon as I get it serviced.

Cheers man!

Man, what a cool story and reason to keep a timepiece alive.

I had a guy tell me he’s been wearing a 90’s Swatch quartz for 20 plus years since his friend who gave it to him passed.

I don’t have any completely sentimental pieces like this but hope to create some for the next gen.

Put the battery back in and let that thing run the way it was meant to! That is a lovely gold timepiece that was meant to be used! Not shoved into a drawer. Besides, I have to imagine that your uncle would’ve wanted you to wear it.
