@Deeperblue's profile picture deserves it's own post imo. 🤣
You're the only other person I've seen with this reference. Glad to see you're enjoying it!
I just bought a new suede strap from Germany for mine. The strap is in the mail, and I'm so excited to throw it on and see what it looks like.
For a white dial, under 38mm, and under $1000, I'd recommend a vintage Omega Seamaster. Vintage isn't for everybody, but Omega has so much history, the movements are beautiful, the watch forms are classics, and they're strap monsters.
The Hamiltons and Seikos mentioned here are really solid. I've owned both, but ultimately ended up selling them cause they were not getting any wrist time. Especially if you have something like a Submariner, it's hard to pick them over it.
You'll WANT to wear the Seamaster, they're so much fun. You can dress them up and dress them down. On top of looking great, they're instant conversation starters. You have an art piece on your wrist from one, if not THE, most prestigious brands in watch making. It's a lot of horological value for $1000.
I'll take your word on Barton and give them a shot.
Have you tried Rios1931 (German) or Hirsch (Austrian) in the same price range? I have a Hirsch Duke and a Rios Suede. I wonder how they compare.
