Casio F-91W.

If it's in your budget, a smaller Rolex OP / date just would be nice.

Finding a Rolex is the issue 😅

Sentimental value will far outweigh monetary, unless you want your daughter to sell it when you pass on. May as well get her something that she'd like wearing. Factor in her favorite metals, colors, and wrist size. Men can easily get away with rose gold and the like, and if your wrists aren't too big, try to get something on the smaller side. It'll mean a whole lot more to her when she inherits it if she knows you bought it just to make yourself think about her.

If you pass on a big men's watch to her, she might end up just keeping it in a drawer.

Have you searched the 5th dimension?

Probably not. Most people would rather complain about Rolex than get off the couch and search other dimensions.

If it’s in the budget, any 36mm Rolex would be nice. Actually, I think any 36mm watch is a possibility. To me that’s a great size for both men and women.

·

I don't know if the bracelet on an Oyster Perpetual tapers to a, well, feminine width or not. It should be a perfectly cromulent size otherwise.

·

Any well made watch with a reliable movement will do. Note, she may not care about watches at all, but if she is sentimental via jewelry, she will love whatever you own regardless.

·

Two daughters, both adults. One's getting the Omega Speedmaster, one's getting the Rolex Explorer. Whether they want them or not 😂

·

“Daughter to WEAR” is the difficult part. Probably medium sized Cartier Tank on bracelet?

·

My daughter will inherit all of my watches regardless of size - 44mm Panerai included. What she does with it is her prerogative. Buy what you want ..and the watch in Interstellar - the Murph in its movie form is a 42mm. So what's size got to do with it?

Maybe if you're into dressier watches, a Cartier Santos automatic in medium would be a very very good watch for a kid. Rolex, PP, VC, AP aside.

I am sharing my Cartier Tank solar beat with my daughter.. will most likely give it to her later on 😁.

Whatever she remembers you wearing when you did things together. Even if it’s insane looking, she’ll still have it when she wants to remember or feel close to you whether she actually wears it around or not. Maybe she’ll wear it on a chain or something.

Of course you can simply buy her a really nice watch she’ll love (the Cartier mentioned by @parechute is a nice idea), but if it’s about her having a piece of your shared history, it’ll be about whatever brings back those memories. And it can be passed on down the family line forever.

I bought and engraved a explorer 1, at 36mm is perfect!

It’s tapers to just under 16mm even on my 41mm and the clasp is pretty reserved. It’s probably the daintiest feeling on wrist in my collection

·

Probably you're smallest case diameter

This is what I feared then. I'd imagine the 34mm OP tapers down to under 14mm, which even I must admit is going to look too feminine for most men.

·

Seriously, thank you for a way less molesty picture. HUGE improvement.

·

I believe it should be something simple like maybe a timex expedition or maybe something in the lines of Orient Bambino.

I know nothing beats an old mechanical watch like an old Omega or something less known like Favre Leuba but something simple like a Seiko SRPG is going to become a good time peace for times to come to gift to your child.

·

Try not to think of it in terms of it being appropriate or liked. Make it a personal choice of your own it will mean all the more to her.

·

I have a 34mm Rolex Date that I plan on passing to my hypothetical daughter

Defy skyline??

I passed down my Mickey watch I wore as a kid already! I have a ‘70s Zodiac Sea Wolf that I interested from my dad I’ll leave her as well to continue the line.

I think JLC and Cartier make watches that work well for both men and woman

Casio F-91W.

I bought the Casio F – 91W for my daughter. She is in nursing school. Absolutely loves it. It’s a perfect watch for her. As a nurse she hast to have one in the hospitals for her clinicals. Some of her favorite TV actors and characters have this watch. She thinks it’s “rad” 😆

·

I started my daughter on a watch collection. I gave her a few of my less expensive watches, but recognized brands. I’ve also given her a couple of vintage Russian watches, bought her a microbrand and the Casio F–91W. Also bought her first watch box and believing for the bug to bite. 🤞🏼

·

I would just gift my daughter a watch that she’d love while I’m alive. Attach it to an important memory of you and her if you can. Then if you have no one else to give your watches to, give them to her but make it clear that she can sell them if need be. That said I plan on doing that and getting myself a Cartier Santos medium g(or even smaller) so she can have both. Lol

Start wearing this:

I really haven't started my daughter, but there were two events that gave me hope:

a) She got an Apple Watch. This might sound detrimental, but she admits that she really became used to seeing the time on her wrist. (She has a busy schedule.)

b) She went to horse camp, and they don't allow smartphones or smartwatches. Since it's a rough environment, she needed something practical, so she took my G-Shock.

My hope is that I can establish a "tough watch" next to her Apple watch. We shall see ...
