Hamilton every day and twice on Sunday.

Superior movement

Superior history

Superior attention to detail

And looks much beter on your wrist.

As much as I’m an unabashed Alpinist fanboy, the Murph is the best Hamilton I have ever seen. Maybe one of the best watches I have ever seen.

·

I would grab the Murph. Just be careful around bookcases

·

Murph. 100% better watch

·

I vote Alpinist because of its unique design. I recently purchased one and like how it fits and looks. I considered the Murph but already have several watches similar in style.

·

I just bought the Murph a couple weeks ago and love it! Just a perfect size. And I lucked out, mine runs +2 sec/day. A great watch that feels totally solid and the dial is wonderful to look at.

·

Hamilton for sure!

·

Had both, the Hamilton was a beautiful watch but the fauxtina and lack of anti-reflective coating rendered it pretty much useless.

·

The Murph. Not just because it is a swiss watch/movement, but IMHO it fits your wrist way better. If I personally had to get the seiko, I would get the previous generation.

·

I'm admittedly biased since my less $ daily driver is a Seiko Alpinist SPB199J1 (Mountain Glacier Limited before yet another Seiko controversy of releasing more of the same as non-limited but on a bracelet).

·

Seiko Alpinist. The dial is far superior against the murph. It’s whichever you prefer to look at.

·

The Murph for looks on your wrist. But the seiko has much better history and heritage.

·

I have an older Alpinist, the SARB 017, but I chose the Murph. I really like my Alpinist, but I'm not a fan of the new cyclops date window and the 100% price increase for the new model.

·

Not fair because the Murph only comes on strap. What bracelet is that?!

It’s a Hamilton Khaki Field 38mm bracelet. Although not 100% fit (a tiny gap at the lugs.

Bracelet Part Number H695704104 from Swatch service centre. ($176 Canadian Dollars)

That's actually a tough one! Both are such awesome watches. I guess the Alpinist has a bit more history.... but I voted for the Murph. 😀

·

...the other one. The 38mm Murph fits better, but you can get a 38mm Baby Alpinist SPB159 that skips the cyclops and compass bezel. Better AR, better WR, and able to be adjusted without sending it to the Swatch group. That said, I love the look of the Murph dial...just wish reflections didn't keep you from seeing it.

I got to go with the Seiko, This is such a versatile watch. Works in the Ocean, Mountains and out on the town
