Talk me out of yet another Seiko

How do I stop this? I caught myself looking at an SRPD at a grey market site. I really don't need another dive-style watch. Yet, it's like having a steak at a chain restaurant. You know exactly what you get.
I know how the crown would feel like, the winding of the watch, or how to get the movement out of the case. The very set of hands I've installed myself before. There would absolutely be no surprises. So why am I looking at this watch? Because I need the very same thing in a different color? (As I'm typing these lines there is a text from Seiko on my phone.)
Whatever I do. I must not drink the Kool-Aid.

Well, it would still be an NH35/4R35 diver-style mod. Never mind that the SRPDs are rather nice, so the mod parts would have to match that, so I would end up with nice and not inexpensive version of something I already have.
I don't like Tissot all that much, but maybe I need to get a Gentleman or something, just to have a movement-detox.
You know, I was on a grey market website earlier today, looking at great prices on a bunch of new Seiko 5s, and I am now in the same boat, sitting here trying to convince myself I don't need or even want a new SRPE, but it is hard when the prices have dropped so much on the grey market! 🤣

Just looking at the lugs of the SBGA, how they are angled and finished. Well yes, better than meth for sure.

Buy a multi-colored LED light bulb instead. When you want a new color watch, just change the light color and you can have anything you want.

Go over to ebay and search for Citizen or Orient or bulova or.....
Citizen always tends to be a few mm too big for me, and I find a lot of Orient designs not very appealing, even though they would rationally be an obvious choice. Bulova on the other hand... 😉

The don't get another dive watch, go with something completely different. Seiko has tons of other beautiful watch at great prices. Check out their tanks or the Presage line. A lot of sweet options in that series. My fav, the Cocktail series...
While my wife and I have a few in this series, the current Manhattan automatic (SRPB46J1) still captures my eye every time I look in my watch box.
Oddly enough, I'm on the "safe side" of the Presage collection. The last Seiko dress watch I bought was a relatively plain JDM model. Talking about JDM, that's another rabbit hole.
Try to avoid dive watches... It's toxic, I can imagine from multiple brand as for seiko it self... Skx, turtle, sumo, mm200, mmm300, etc.. Oh my

Alright, the Seiko SRPD73K2 has arrived. I was even completely calm while letting it sit in my mailbox due to a brief family trip. (This is progress, right, night...?)
The SRPD73K2 was slightly different from what I expected, maybe I should have read more reviews. It's however not an unpleasant surprise. It's on my wrist now, I I shall write a review soon, after spending some more time with it. 😉
