I understand what you mean, pare. In a World Cup, as we've seen time and again... nerves can get the better of teams. Whichever team has the mental toughness, the self-belief and drive to win, and the tactics and players to execute their plan, usually rises to the top. This year, Japan beating Germany, and KSA upsetting Argentina, are proofs again of this.
For sure, this 2nd round of games will surely heat up as players step up their game. The Netherlands-Ecuador draw, Iran win vs. Wales, and the US-England draw are examples of that. I actually was rooting for the US to beat England during their game earlier, because I know they've sent the strongest contingent so far in all their past participations. But, both teams' game plans, strengths, and weaknesses cancelled each other out. The US has to beat Iran to progress, and I think they will.
You're right, there have been some really good upsets so far. Haven't caught all the games but glad that there have been some underdogs surprising the world.

For sentimental reasons, I hope Portugal get to the Finals. But I always root for Brazil. If they face each other in the Finals, it'll be a sad day for CR7 since Portugal will surely lose since they lack creativity in attack. But at least, CR7 will be in the same boat as Messi.
