If you follow me you may have an idea that I had wanted (and researched for a few years now) about the Baignoire. It was in one of my polls, but I honestly felt the new models were priced above what I felt (again a personal opinion) was reasonable.
During one if my research induced nights of insomnia, I happened about this one, from 1993. Complete set with papers and box. The jeweller selling it was very reputable and the price was what I was expecting it to be. As well I've noticed that Baignoire models changed the straps as years passed. The older ones had the old clasp/leather system that I liked from Cartier. This to me was a sign. It was gold, dainty alligator strap with the Clasp mechanism I liked. It offered me the comfort of adjusting it perfectly to my small wrist without going to the store.
The one I could afford from the store would have been steel with a calfskin strap. And the choice seemed to be a no brainer.
Fast forward to receiving it, it was really well kept, unused that the strap was still stiff..I am not such a patient person but this time patience payed off 😎
Thanks for taking time to read my ramble..I'm truly excited about this find and will treasure this watch for sure ❤️
