Finally fixed the one problem with the Tudor Black Bay 58

The Black Bay 58 is one of my favorite watches, but every time I wear it, I’m made to look like a fool several times a day as I attempt to check the date only to be met with frustration, followed by digging into my pocket to check the date on my phone.

Well, I finally found a simple way to end this humiliation once and for all. Here’s my new BB58 with month, day, and date complication. Post-it notes really are a revolutionary invention.

What is it you would say you do here, exactly?

I wish Speidel would get off their asses and get back to making awesome tech like they used to.

Yes,  it's a little scroll calendar within a watchband!

Found online yesterday while looking for a bracelet for my Easy Reader, which already has a day-date function, so redundant.

There are also these.

My mailman (who I just found out is a watch enthusiast) was just showing me one of those calendar bands. I’d never seen it before, but it gave me the idea to stick a post-it on my clasp.

I had the same gripe with the 58. I sometimes turn the bezel to the single digit of the date. For example, on the 5th, 15th, and 25th of the month, I turn the bezel to 5 o’clock and voila, manual date. By 10 or 11am I have it committed to memory and reset the bezel.

In my mind, if a watch has a rotating bezel, there is no such thing as a ‘No date’.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was expecting maybe a new bracelet or leather band but no, it’s a post-it note on the clasp. 🪦🪦🪦

·

Date window manufacturers hate him for this one simple trick.

·

I like that you didn’t ruin the symmetry of the dial, but I’d prefer to see it color matched.

·

Brilliant!

·

Perpetual post-its. Nice!

·

One major flaw… the 200m water resistance does not apply to the date function. :(

Damnit man that is brilliant

It's worthless without the year.😉

Seriously, it reminded me that in the 70's someone came up with the idea to print a monthly calendar on a small metal stamp with tabs that folded around and over the strap. Since cellphone cameras were yet to be invented, the knowledge of this awesome watch accessory is now lost and forgotten.

·

Actually, Oscar linked it above in his post. Apparently you can get them on Amazon. Maybe I should I consider bending those metal tabs over the bracelet of the BB58?

I've got a few no date watches now. I like to simply wind my watch and set the time and be on my way and this makes it a better watch for rotation. Weekends are when it's mostly used because I I'm not as concerned on the date as I do during weekdays.  But when it comes to desk diving, I'd rather use something slimmer or on leather.

Yep, very similar to what I remember. A closer one is sold on Etsi here:
