Is it possible for us to create the 1st WatchCrunch Trans-Atlantic Ocean meetup? Has this ever been done before?
I'm going to be taking Royal Carribean's trans-atlantic cruise from New Jersey to the UK beginning May 1st 2023. I imagine there must be a few other watch enthusiasts taking the same voyage. By day 5 we may be in the mood for a diversion other than the ship-board activities, so let's get together for a watch meetup!
Let's see if we're lucky enough for people to spot this and build interest, and if so, we can adjust date/time.
Agenda:
What watch are you voyaging with?
Travel stories!

Oh my days, how amazing would that be!!! A WatchCrunch party boat!!! 😱
Sadly I am on the wrong side of the Atlantic, but I really really hope you find someone else who will be onboard.
At the last London meetup we did discuss a WatchCrunch holiday, but that was more a caravan at Skegness rather than a Royal Carribbean cruise 😆

The idea just popped in my head last night. I'm hoping a few interested people see this!
That's a great idea! I won't be on that cruise, but in the future I'll post my cruises here in case someone else is going.
On my last cruise this past November, my Mondaine died and I needed a watch for the rest of the cruise (I wasn't going to wear my other watch, a Casio A158, to dinner) and ended up buying one on the ship. 💸 Nothing fancy, but you know ship pricing...
Will a ship like that have boutiques? How are the prices in such places?
That would indeed be a fun meetup!

This will be my first cruise, so I'm curious to see myself what's available on board and what the prices may be.

If my history serves me correctly, you will have your choice of Invicta from the shops. Sometimes you get lucky and they carry Swatch brands, but a lot of Invicta. I can’t see ships giving up that cash cow.
I'll be getting on the P&O Arvia from Southampton on Sunday the 28th of May if anyone else is. 🛳
Lucky you! Cruises are fun and relaxing. I need one but am on wrong side of NA and working that week.☹
Will be 1 in a million if there’s someone from ‘Crunch nation on board, but worth try. Keep an eye out for nice automatics and you might randomly find a horological friend.
Also, Be sure to wear a diver with at least 300m of WR. Icebergs and all.
Well, we're 1,000 miles or so out to sea, and no one has signed up. I think it was a good idea with a low likelihood of success... Too bad.
There is a watch shop on board: Omega, Tissot, Citizen, Bulova, G-Shock, Bvlgari, and Hublot. But the selection is fairly light, except for Hublot.
The shop is hosting 2 pre-owned Rolex sales events. But the selection is already on display, and it consists almost exclusively of jeweled versions of the Date Just.
Hopefully the orgy I scheduled is better attended.

I’ve actually picked up quite a few of my watches on board ships. The best thing to use onboard credit for, in my humble opinion.
