Vaer A3 Traditional 36mm

I recently got a new job and have been busy with the relocation process, so it has been a while since I posted or participated here at WC. To celebrate my new position, I gifted myself this Vaer A3. I can't say enough good thing about this watch. The dial really fits my personal aesthetic (and matches most of my guitars haha). During the past year or so I had a few discouraging experiences with micro brands, but Vaer has renewed my faith in the watch industry. I like their jubilee strap, but am looking forward to trying it out on some other straps this fall/winter.

That's a great looking watch! My Vaer D5 gets worn more often that some of my other watches that were significantly more expensive.

Vaer offers attractive options in their price range. Some other brands might offer the same specs for less money, but with Vaer you have the assurance that if there is a problem with the watch you can get support.

The founders send monthly emails with updates about the brand, and invite replies if people have questions.

This looks better on you than on me. Perhaps it is because you have the bracelet or maybe because the photo didn't capture the blue-tinged reflectivity of the domed crystal (the only thing I sort of dislike about the watch).

I recently got the A3 Atlas Navy after a work promotion.

Although a replacement is currently in transit. But customer service is very good and everyone who has seen the watch was impressed.

Plus 36mm is such a great size.

I love it...the hands look so good and that bracelet is fantastic. Congrats Jeremy!

Thanks for your comments. Glad to hear from other Vaer customers.

It doesn't bother me at all. But I can understand that it could be a distraction.

Yeah, this has has the Miyota movement I think. I will consider a fully made-in-the-usa version if it ever happens.

Congrats on the new job! I’m definitely a big fan of Vaer. They have excellent customer service and their interaction with owners via email, FB, etc. is great.

Really like your watch! I know it's much less money and doesn't have an on house movement but I would have one of these over the new Tudor Ranger? ( apologies to Tudor Fans reading this!!)

See, that’s one of the things I like.

I got this about 3 years ago, and have never regretted it. It was the only watch I could find that had what I wanted and nothing extra.

Obviously that’s not their strap. It came with a leather and a nato strap, and both are real nice. They may not be innovating, but they’re producing solid watches at good prices.

Thanks! Yeah, I am currently convinced that the luxury watch space is not really worth it. That is largely because I can't afford them, but based on my experience with other high-end products, you can usually find similar value for much less. But, I realize that legacy brands have been around for a long time for a good reason...

I'm in a simular position with precisely the same view. My next purchases will likely be from Vario and Phoibos,  both micribrands but with great specs.

Good call. I like both those brands and have them on my short list also.
