If you had $5000 to spend at Swatch Group boutiques, what would you buy?

The game is that you have a $5000 gift card that can only be used on Swatch brand products, so you have to buy new and at retail price. This would include Hamilton, Longines, Omega, etc.  What‘s the best collection you can create?

I wouldn’t 😉

Why not?

I set the limit at $5K specifically to put the popular Omegas out of range…I think constellations and the Railmaster are the only watches that fit the price point from Omega.

I borrowed $100 in your make-believe fantasy. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Fine. I’ll get 9-10 Khaki Fields and call it a day.

An Omega Railmaster it is then.👍

·

Longines all day long, there are many to choose from with five large.

Why not?

On a $5k limit for a collection (so 3-4 watches), I’ve given options many times. I don’t think it gets you anywhere near to some decent pieces in the group without compromising on 1 or 2 aspects, and I think you get better bang for your buck outside of the Swatch Group. Otherwise it would probably just be a retro Longines, a Mido, and a Hamilton Murph 38mm, but I’d feel very short-changed despite doing a decent job.

Sorry… but you did ask 😉

(and if you care, if I had to start again: Vertex M100A, Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador, Muhle Glashütte Rescue Timer, Dan Henry 1945 if you have change)

I actually really appreciate your perspective.

So in real life I got a/my new AT at an Omega boutique for 10% off retail, which is $4,950. So that puts me within the limit 😁 and I’m still very happy with my choice.

Image

BUT, if that doesn’t count based on your rules I would also say the Railmaster

So many great Longines and Hamiltons to choose from but as always I will go over budget and make a down payment on this world timer or Bullhead.

·

I’d buy the whole solar system in moonswatches & maybe a few exrtas of my favs to have on backup when the ones I wear a lot break

·

I have Tissot, Longines and Rado watches which I’m happy with so I’m fine with Swatch group watches. Given $5000 (£4100) I’d go to Omega AD’s trying to get a AT for that price. Failing that it would be a Railmaster.

·

Do we think that we don't have any other watch? Will it be our first purchase?

I already have 2 Longines, 2 Seikos, 2 ClaudeBernards, a MeisterSinger, A Citizen, 2 Skagens etc.

Ok whatever, i would only go with some more Longines :D (And i'm assuming that they all have 15% discount because they always always have! :D )

All in bracelets because if you try to buy the bracelets after it is usually 3 times expensive then the price difference between a leather or a rubber strap version.

With 15% my selections are under 5K :D

·

Longines Spirit 37mm - 2.140,00 €

Longines Legend Diver 2.380,00 €

Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 - 565,00 €

·

I'd stick £800 on and get the Railmaster '57

Image

Alright,if that's a cheat answer.

Image

Longines Heritage, £2000

Image

Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer, £750.

Image

Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical, £400.

Image

Hamilton Scuba. £800.

And ill keep the other grand, thanks

·

I’m with you. Just save a bit more or get it second hand.

·

Probably this one. But I’d upgrade the strap with the leftover money.

Image
·

I'd probably spend it on transportation to another shop, Swatch group doesn't seems to be able to make watches that capture my interest.

·

20 moonswatches 🤣

Or

Omega seamaster
