Many affordable watches or one expensive one?

I saw the Timex MK1 36mm on sale and it got me thinking if i should buy it and have fun knowing I already have a few affordable watches or if it’s better to save up.
By the way if anyone has any experience with this watch I am interested in your opinion!

The many vs. one debate is, shall we say, polarizing?

It's all up to the individual and how they want or can afford to be a watch enthusiast/collector.

It's one expensive* one for me, I feel they're more enjoyable knowing I worked hard for that piece. But we can only share our opinions and experiences, it's up to you what you want to do with your money.

I like a collection of expensive watches 😉🍻

I like the economy end of the hobby where if some get destroyed its no big deal. No one within 1000 miles of here knows watch brands besides Rolex so the flex factor is missing here.

I'm not trying to impress anyone and wear inexpensive watches for fun.

I just picked up the Timex MK1 Mechanical (on sale for $99, plus an extra 15% off coupon). It isn't light like the quartz models, but also isn't heavy. The case is thin and the lugs curve, so it wears great. I have a 7-inch wrist, and the 36mm size is fine ... it just adds to the vintage vibe from the acrylic crystal. This has scratched my itch for both a vintage military watch and a hand-winder like a Hamilton... with only an $85 hit to the wallet!

Amazing I got the same discount on the watch. Hopefully I like it as much as you do !

For me it has a lot to do with my mode of transportation. I currently rotate through about a dozen watches. When taking public transportation (subway, L, bus, etc) I stick with less expensive watches. If I am driving or taking an Uber someplace like a theater or out to dinner, I wear my more expensive watches.  When riding a bike I stick to the lowest end of my watches. I enjoy living in Chicago and enjoy that the city gives me an excuse to own and change watches everyday.

This all comes down to pocket lifestyle etc. My collection is all different price points. What can I say I love them all!!💪
