Is it really suitable for a watch case? Has anyone drop tested this material to see if it will crack?
Personally I think Ceramic is a cool material for a watch case, it never scratches and very light compare to other steel models. Bio ceramic feels a lot like a high quality plastic, I think that's the best material for a moonswatch :)
I have the bioceramic NASA big bold Swatch and it doesn't feel any less rugged than my resin Bertucci watches. The look is a step above my Timex Gallatin solar, which is resin or plastic and has held up well but looks like it shouldn't, if that makes sense. I think it will hold up better than an Armitron plastic, based on their look.
My understanding is that it's a warm material, that it readily adapts to skin temperature. I think this would mean it has a low specific heat capacity.
It's castor bean oil-based plastic mixed with whatever mineral ceramic IIRC. There are those ceramic knives that always seem indistinguishable from steel to me, so it's not like we're talking milk jug plastic.

In this situation, @Candide3693 is not the hero we want - he's the hero we need.

You know, if I could ever get a Moonswatch for MSRP, I would do a challenge with it against one of the AliBaba knock offs.🤣
It’s plastic.
