Omega Seamaster Diver 300m midsize

Hi watchfam! Do you think Omega will ever release a new midsize version for their hotselling SMP 300m Diver? Imo a 38 or 39mm version would be an absolute hit for women and smaller wristed guys. The 50mm lug2lug on the standard 42mm version is quite long... please comment below if you think this is possible in the future ๐Ÿ˜‰

Small dive watches are very much not the norm. ย I picked up a Christopher Ward Trident 600, 38mm, in their recent sales. ย Apparently, it was not a big seller for them compared to their larger, 40mm+ divers. ย Perfect for me though. ย Breitling produce a smaller diver that looks lovely but is otherwise not the best value (or watch). ย  ย

I agree with previous responses. ย I think Omega uses the Aqua Terra to fill this niche, even though these donโ€™t have a rotating bezel.

I own the newest version. I have a 7.25 wrist and the current one is right at my lug to lug limit. Having said that, I wouldn't buy a smaller version of this generation of 300M. The proportions would be off.

Wouldn't mind if they improved the bracelet a bit, but now that mine sits permanently on a rubber deployant...

If they are smart they will but I won't hold my breath waiting for the release.

The 36s used to be super cheap, but the preowned prices have been climbing, so I suppose there's a market.

Would say it's definitely possible. They already do the Speedmaster in 38mm and they could be looking over at the Breitling SuperOcean in 36mm (targeted mostly towards women I believe) and want to capture that same market/target demo. Also, I believe the watch trend is shifting a bit now to watches on the smaller side, compared to the oversized trend of a few years ago. ย

Why? The lugs are very short, twisted and the bracelet goes straight down. 42mm says not much ย about how it wears and the SMP wears pretty little. Also with the quite big ย bezel you would get a tiny dial, that would look stupid.ย

I think it comes down to getting the movement to fit. The Omega catalog is huge. Their desire to flex on tech and innovation is awesome. They will find a way. Why not? Again, the love a big catalog of pieces that kills the comp in every categoryย
