Is anyone else intimidated by the #WRUW crowd

Is it only flexing? I have a couple of watches that might meet the bottom of the standard in that chain of luxury parading across my app, but on these $200-$500 micros I am exploring as a newborn watch collector, I'm feeling very outclassed when I go to take a picture.

I don't think so, I regularly see a cheap Casios on WRUW get more likes than higher priced watches, the rule here is buy what you like, wear what you like, no judgment.

·

I think you'll find that there's just as much appreciation for affordable watches here as there is attention given to watches that cost more than my car.

·

Honestly I've seen as many or more Duros, F91's and Timex's. Might be the same person, but watch changes. Won't get judgement from 99.9%, cuz nothing is ever 100% unless someone is selling something......and it's faaaar better than other watch nerd places.

·

You’ll see em all, just like in the dealers windows, but, the people on here love watches and wether it’s a $11.00 dollar Casio duro or $70,000 PP it will get a conversation or at least a positive emoji do carry on posting!

·

If I might gently suggest something...I think it's in your head a bit.

Looking at the first 5 posts in the thread it's a Squale, a vintage Seiko, a Daytona (okay maybe that's flexing a bit), a vintage Ingersoll pin pallet (which I believe @Deeperblue bought for an eye watering 20 GBP off eBay) and a Dan Henry. It's a pretty broad celebration of watches here and I'd hate for you to feel out of sorts.

FWIW, a couple of micro brand shots are going to be celebrated on the WRUW thread.

·

No. The WRUW section is a judgement free zone no matter how expensive or cheap. There's no barrier to entry. We're all here to appreciate and share our watches. Never be intimidated or influenced to think you're not good enough in any area. Enjoy yourself, enjoy what you have, and you'll be happier than most no matter their income level.

As long it's not Hublot, Invicta or RM lol

I post my Invicta and I've seen Hublots before, not seen an RM on here yet...

·

Post what you have, and enjoy them!

This is likely the least judgemental place on the internet when it comes to price/brand. Just remember that we all live different lives, and have different levels of income, so don't judge your watches/life based on what you see others posting.

This is one of my favourite watches, and it costs less than $100 USD.

·

Absolutely not. I don't post anything of mine that's over £1k. There's plenty of interesting watches that don't cost the earth, and I've got a bunch that I enjoy that cost under £100, like today's:

Wheat what you love that is what this is all about. I proudly wear my $13 dollar Casio or $50 Casio duro as much as my Omega or Rolex. Micro brands are cool wear then and love them we all do here !

·

It’s just watch nerds showing off the watches they love of all budgets and brands. I’d say just enjoy it all, and let us enjoy your watches by posting them!

And now I need that Teal/Brown case Timex in my life, but it'll have to go on the list since I'm spoken for until next month, #1wc....🤪

But digging that colorway.

·

Post away, it's all good. Have seen all sorts of watches on there. To date I don't think anybody has posted an Apple watch or other smart watch, willing to be corrected on that point!

·

Don't be. Affordable watches get as much and sometimes more appreciation than the high horology stuff. I don't own anything expensive, and I also own one or two pieces that, when looking at their specifications, are rather crap, like my scratched-up, non-running, pin-pallet Lucerne. But it's my crap and I still love it, and fellow enthusiasts can relate to and share that love.

REGARDLESS of what you're wearing.

@Edge168n is correct. I'm very proud of my sexy £20 Ingersoll.

It doesn't matter what you post, there's no hating, and I'm convinced that the main factor determining the amount of 'likes' you get is how close to the top of the thread you are.

Hey your Invicta doesn't count, I was talking about those 55mm huge and thick tv shop network Invictas

·

I do not post to WRUW often, but I find most of the watches there fall more on the budget side of the spectrum. I love browsing and looking for watches I have not seen before.

·

Oh...forgot about that part. 😂😂

·

TBH I am intimidated, or at least have some trepidation, anytime @Aurelian posts anything tho.....

·

I think many people here own and wear watches across multiple price points. JaeBust or ChronoGuy (just examples) regularly post affordable things they have so the two would hardly judge anyone owning such watches as well.

Of course some people have watches that are out of reach for others. But that's okay, it's only normal, I quite like seeing these too.

·

The WRUW feed is the most democratic (in terms of price) place on the internet. Sure, there are some really nice watches, and sure some new releases find their way on there just a few days after they drop, but overall there is a wide mix. Please don't get intimidated by a Casio Duro or a $400 Seiko.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what my current #1wc WRUW watch cost? It is intimidating.

Whenever I post in the WRUW, I have this song running through my head.

That's all of us bud.

·

I’m patiently waiting out the next #1WC month to wear and post my cool new $18 micro roller geek watch. I find all of the WRUW watches interesting from the actual clones of Casios and AliExpress to the ALS and Ressence. Please post

·

Not intimidated…I will rock my Casios and Seikos proudly

·

I can appreciate most watches - some exceptions being casios, RMs and Hublots. I know that Casio comment isn’t going to make me any friends here, but I think it’s clear that price is not the determining factor!

·

I've recently posted a Casio Royale, a Timex Expedition Scout and a Vostok Komandirskie for #WRUW. Post what YOU enjoy.

·

Don’t be! I have quite a few watches, but I don’t really consider any of them “high end”. You will routinely see me wearing my Tissot or Hamilton, or even one of the micro brands I own. You be you, buy and wear with what fits your personality, your lifestyle, and your budget.
