#1WC - I'm out, guys. I just couldn't do it anymore.

My new Sekonda "all stainless steel" quartz diver arrived an hour ago, and after fitting a very fiddly 377 battery, I had to put it on.

This challenge was all about honesty. I could have pretended that this had never happened and continued with the game, but just like people who buy fake watches or who claim fake aristocracy on YouTube, I would have been lying not only to you but to myself.

Image

As someone who tends to change his watch 4 or 5 times a day, the #1wc was absolute torture for me on so many mental and physical levels that I'm surprised I lasted as long as I did. I'm quite proud of myself for reaching 12 days, but I was at breaking point yesterday.

Image

True enough, at least I got a Sekonda tan line out of it, but I never want to do this again. That red and green nylon strap, despite being very good quality, just got rougher by the hour.

I can finally play with my other new watches properly now.

Image

If it's any consolation, I definitely would have failed at the Haiku stage because I have no idea how to compose one nor the inclination to even bother.

Anyway, I wish the rest of you the best of luck in the challenge. If you aren't part of it, it's not as easy as you might think, and everyone left in the game is a hero.

Is that "Back to Life"?

Another one bites the dust 😉

Well done, happy to hear you now have access to the collection. You’ve won! I hope the time was helpful. I know it’s been a bit perspective shifting for me so far. 😀🍻🎉🍾

I could never do what you did. Like you, I change watches all the time during the day. It's going to be tough on me going on vacation at the beach and wearing only my Timex tide watch for a whole week. I'm thinking about taking a dinner watch, but I want to be strong...

Now...on to freedom for you! 👍
