Watches that don't get caught on backpack straps

Does anyone have recommendations for watches that don't get caught on bag straps etc, and yet also don't squeeze the wrist too much? I guess my closest thing to that is my Swatch Skin, the main downside to that being that the bracelet cuts off the circulation (probably needs links added) which can only maybe be adjusted at an official swatch store. I have the Casio A700 which is slim and not bad at all, but can still get caught at times. Because of these issues, for my current trip, I chose my lightweight G-Shock GAW100B with a partly swapped strap (for added grip) and a ridiculous 16.7 mm thickness. I loosened my backpack straps and dealt with it that way.

When I was still soldiering we used to cover our watches with something very much like a tennis wrist sweatband. It had the advantage of protecting the watch, preventing it from banging on equipment or getting snagged on straps which are a plentitude on a battle harness, could easily be pulled away to read the time, and they naturally were also used as a sweatband.

Mine was khaki drab in color but except from that it looked identical to a tennis wrist sweatband and I can't remember what watch I wore at the time but it possibly was a Casio F91W.
