In a shocking new twist, only 3 months ago Bulgari released the thinnest watch. Only to be shown up by a company synonymous for oversized $500k bricks. The RM UP-01, is certainly a watch many would love to have, but only 150 will make the cut.. I love my chooonky bois, but this is intriguing and I'd love to get my hands on one to see it in person. But I don't think I or anyone in my Red Bar chapter could afford 1.8M on anything, let alone a watch like this.
No amount of finishing or horology is going to justify $1.8M for a timepiece for about 99.9% of the world population. This is going to speak to someone who wants something exactly like this, has had the idea before. Loves, hell owns a Ferrari and is a wealthy enthusiast of high end watches 🤷🏼♂️ I beg to say there's at least 150 of them out there 🤣
Kick back, enjoy the article and witness our era's watch making, taking one stride at a time..

Meh. I enjoy the advancement of watchmaking, but this strikes me as doing something just to say you did which I find less appealing. And the price…that’s just getting more publicity by going the price so high people will write about it for that alone.
but i think bvlgari design is nicer than this rm
I saw this watch as I was scrolling Instagram at lunch today, and I was wondering if it indeed now held the record. Also, I agree with your assessment of the target audience. Makes you wonder if there are rich people out there that just look for weird & eccentric things to buy, with the hopes that it will sell for more later on. I just couldn’t see this going to auction and fetching more than the retail price. Perhaps I am naïve 😂.
We have gone right past crazy thin and arrived at stupid thin. What is the point of getting a watch to the thickness of a piece of paper?
