What's The Least You'd Spend On A Watch?

This resin Timex looks pretty neat and it's dirt cheap too...but is it too cheap?

What's the least you'd spend on a watch to add to your collection?
£5? £500? £5000? 😮

Never had a Timex but really want one.I like this one tho I would prefer an automatic version. Also the least I would spend is 100 pounds.

I have the Collection Unisex Watch MQ-24, from Amazon, which was £7.99. I admit that I have only worn this once. I bought it out of curiosity. It keeps great time. A curious point about this watch: the pope is reckoned to wear it.

I also have two F-108WH-1ACF from Amazon, which were £22 each - a red and a blue one. I wear  both of these regularly despite having a reasonably large watch collection. I am very fond of them.

Probably €65 on a Swatch ISIKHATHI made from recycled plastic. Fun little watch, and the material has a nice feel to it

Depends really- I'm happy with fun cheap digitals under £100, but analogues I would rather spend £500+ unless the quality is amazing for the price like on some AliExpress watches and German brands

I do have a `God-Tier` Casio F-91W as part of my collection and it was $10.

the same for me. It's definitely the most affordable respected watch.

Probably something like €15 on a nice little Casio. Beside that, I think around €30 on a few Vostok Komandirskies.

·

20 bucks for a casio ltp v007. i appreciate it, best 20 bucks i ever spent

I have spent postage only for the odd broken watch.

Other than a £9 F91w, I paid £10 for a vintage Timex, and £13 for this 1960s Majex Kingstar down as spares and repairs because they said it was running too fast. It was not - it’s such a nice little vintage beater on a new NATO.

Spent £9.99 on a Casio digital a few years ago (can't remember the ref, little black and grey thing with large display) but as I'm an old fart now, I can't read it anymore without putting my glasses on and that can be a pain in the rear if you can't find them.

Found it.

I think I spent £37 on this little Lorus titanium beater.
It gets a surprising amount of wear.

I picked this little beauty up for £20 off ebay, it caught my eye because of its dial and large pushers, and is incredibly well made, I can’t find much if any information about it, amazing what you can find for the price of a round of beers.

This is what I love about Casio so many models, new to the game and this is the first time I’m seeing this model. Want one

I bought this Daiso watch in Japan for 500JPY, or 3.2GBP(4.35USD).

I paid $12 for this Naviforce, as I was attracted to the dial layout and day of the week complication. Wrote it off as too good to be true, and didn't even unbox it for 6 weeks or more after it arrived. Man, was I surprised! Great beater watch. Day/date complication works flawlessly, and in fact it's a Seiko VX43E movement and has an accuracy of +.2 spd. So, if I'm attracted to it, there's usually not a price floor. However, I have too many watches in this category, so I've learned to restrain myself unless it's unique (or possibly a good find to share on my YouTube channel). This is my photo of the watch, too...not stock shot.

Casio MRW200H for AU$39 (eBay).

I would say 45-50 USD AMZN special.

I enjoy this watch as the price point lets me not worry too much about banging around .

According to this community, if there were a 2 penny watch made by Casio, Timex, Citizen, Seiko or someone of the like—I’d probably be safe in getting it. It seems the brand can set the lowest price possible, so long as they are reputable and the masses have accepted it.

If I liked it, and it wasn't an awful watch, why not?   I've got a casio F91W in my collection, as well as far nicer watches, each has a use, each bring me joy, so what's the issue?

Uh, none. Just saying that If the watch enthusiast community agrees that company X is reputable and they sell a 2 penny watch, I'd probably be safe in getting it, so there is no floor.

I think I had to wait for a couple of months until it became available. They are difficult to find.

HI, I have the same watch, I bought it on Feb 2018 in $18, it is a litlle big for my small wrist but the aviation style is attractive. Good date for the movement, I didnt know it have a Seiko!

Cool! Yes, it’s a little large even for my 8” wrist! Great find, though. I’m tempted to try some of their other budget friendly watches, but not much as appealed to me aside from this one.

The watch I wear most often at my hands on job is a resin Timex Expedition. Had it going on four yrs now and just recently changed the battery. Actually got a compliment on it once. Lol. But it still works, keeps great time and I use a little poly watch on the crystal on occasion & it looks new again.

A resin digital Casio for my gym bag may exact a staggering $20, but it meets the need, and will never get lost or stolen.

A watch that inexpensive with a metal case I would be hesitant to wear because it might give me a rash.
