Airain is a great brand. They just re-released their historical type-20 chronograph. A super chrono to watch out for 😃👍.

Eberhard & CO. have been around for awhile now, but still aren't on the tips of people's tongues..

I m looking for something obscure, good and nice. Retro, clasic or dress. What about Kenneth Cole or Accurist?

At that price point with a nice history behind the Newton caliber by SOPROD, I'm really on the fence about getting one. I just wished they really finished the movement to higher specs, besides the côtes de genève, even if the cost would go up. The bridge in that movement is good looking and has a lot of potencial for some beveling and an exibition caseback. Great watch 👍👌😀!

Well from my profile you can see im digging my new Tsao Baltimore watch. Having grown up in Maryland I had to give Alan Tsao’s brand a check and am enamored to say the least.  Hope to add more soon. MD flag on the rotor is sick

Kenneth Cole isn’t a watch brand but a fashion label. They don’t make watches.

With rare exception, fashion watches are cheaply made, utilize the most inexpensive quartz movements and are highly overpriced. 
 

For the same money there are a number of well made watches, especially if you shop grey market. 

Enicar have awesome designs. Cortebert have once produced parts for Rolex. Both very underrated on ebay:) 

On the Vintage market Enicar is a killer toolwatch brand 💪. They made great divers and chronos alike. But for those you are looking at 2K and up 😅. Keep a good eye out for their time only pieces, specially the Ocean Pearl and Sea Pearl models. They have great in house movements and are very affordable. This watch was mine, I sold it to a dealer and he still sold it at a decent price. 

Hi Ben! Love your channel and great to see you on here. As a Chicago native I’m going to plug a few local brands you can look into:

Astor+Banks: Sea Ranger (sold out) and Fortitude. I own the Fortitude and it gets the most wrist time in my 12 watch collection.

Haim: Will be taking receipt of their Legacy SE chronograph soon. Fun, well designed piece. They also recently successfully funded the Descent (along with the Legacy) which is a cool “Duo-Bezel” dive watch with a lovely dial that can easily be dressed up. 
 

Farr+Swit: Seaplane and Wayfinder are both two of the most unique designs I’ve ever come across. I own a Seaplane SE

Because clearly you’re in the know when it comes to what the swells are secretly wearing.

I'm currently living in Copenhagen and there is a local brand called About Vintage that has been doing impressive things in recent times with their designs - a portion of their watches are on the pricy side like this one below which is  collab with my favourite brand Frederique Constant. But they have sub 200 £ watches that in my opinion have a polished design with good materials to match.

I have the budget for only one 3K to 4K watch in 2022. I was debating beetween 2, now I'm debating beetween 4. That Airain Type 20 is on that list 😂👍.

There are some Russian/Soviet brands that are rather obscure … at least in the rest of the world.  I own a Luch and a Poljot.  I've also looked at some Raketa and Molnija models, but I haven't pulled the trigger on those yet.

You have to be careful with Enicar, there are a lot of frankenstein pieces out there. They are a lovely watch, and I have one still in my collection, but I tend to avoid them now.

Cooper probably make the best G10 homage out there - the Pathfinder, and it’s under £75. They also do a decent diver and have some automatic options on that. Fits your modus operandii I think.

I'm really not afraid at this point in my Watch Collecting journey about franken watches. Reading and reasearching was been the key through the years 🧐. I no longer have an Enicar in my collection but if there is one in the near future it will be a Sherpa Dive Super Compressor ⌚😃🙌.

They are really nice, if I saw one of those for a good price then I would drop on it, but you are looking at £3k+. Then the maintenance… One can dream.
