Bracelets or straps on a hot day?

This past week in Minnesota it’s been a record breaking week in terms of warm weather, almost 89 degrees F. Usually I wear straps in warm weather because I can’t quickly adjust any of my bracelets, other than my Monta, to make room for my swelling wrists. But in the case of my Seamaster 300m I absolutely love the Forstner bracelet and can’t get myself to change it out, plus it has 7 micro adjustments that when I need to I can adjust the pins out.

Anyways, I don’t have to worry about that right now since the weather is bipolar and now it’s 29 degrees and snowing…

So, what do you prefer in hot weather bracelets, leather straps, or natos?

Usually metal when it's hot. On the fly microadjust makes it perfect.

Artem Sailcloth with what they call "RM style" leaf spring. 👌

·

Anything non leather so I can wash the sweat off. Rubber is fine. Silicon is fine. Bracelets are fine. Leather soaks up the sweat and starts to smell. 😕

·

As a fellow Minnesotan I prefer bracelets or nylon straps, just not leather or rubber since they don't breath imo

·

Generally, I’m a strap guy. I do keep a few watches on bracelets just to have the option without a change out.

·

Bracelets in the heat, or rubber. You don't want to be sweating up your nice leather straps.

·

I'm here just to gripe about the snow today (here in SW Minnesota) after so many nice days of 90 degree weather.

Oh, and bracelet.

First off, beautiful seamaster sir! Can’t wait to add one to my collection sometime. Second, I see you’re a Monta fan and I tip my hat to you. Owner of 2 currently and absolutely LOVE my Montas!!

Now getting to your question, I’m a bracelet fan above all else. I wear Natos sometimes and the occasional crafter blue or Everest rubber.

Sadly after getting into Monta, Oak & Oscar, and others.. I’m so spoiled with microadjust on the fly bracelets!! Forstner makes a killer product too. Hopefully they unleash a quick adjust bracelet and then they’ll be a lights out winner!

·

I have aftermarket rubber straps or/and nato for all sports/field watches. If the clasp has on the fly adjustment it stays on bracelet. Dress pieces remain always on leather

·

Nato > metal > rubber (make me sweat) > leather.

I think it depends on hygrometry level in your area. Here there is a lot of humidity in the air, even when it is hot, so a Nato strap is the most comfortable way of wearing a watch.

·

Bracelets or rubber band - btw that pic is 🔥

LOVE the way the bracelet looks on your SMP300 👊🏼

·

I have no preference. None of my watches have on-the-fly adjustment and I'm in the wonderful time of year where it's cold in the morning and like a furnace in the afternoon. I suffer either way. My wrists expand and contract like balloons for half the day.

·

Silicon or some of the vented (racing style) straps… metal just becomes warm and I prefer it colder less sweaty

First off thank you 😊!

Secondly, I love my Monta as well and just like you am spoiled with the quick adjustment on the bracelet. That is one of the reasons why I have never taken off the bracelet on my Atlas! I also want to get an Oak & Oscar and see how their bracelet compares to the Monta.

I do hope that Forstner comes out with a quick adjust clasp in the future so I can just switch out the claps but, we will see.

Looks so clean!!

Once it hits the 80s I wear a whole lot less leather. Bracelets or rubber straps only.

·

Rubber is such a suitable for very hot day. Claiming by Sigaporian

When it’s hot I stick to bracelets, and I have made it a rule not to buy bracelets without a quick adjust (although the Forstner 1450 works on the Speedy with its stretch links). I find rubber to stay wet with sweat longer than steel, and leather gets damp and gross feeling. Nylon is a great second choice.

Leather straps with rubber backing - our way to solve this problem! 😄

This is what I love about WC - you don't know what you don't know.

I had never heard of Forstner bracelets. Just looked them up and just WOW! Love their tapering bracelet designs.

·

I just feel like I need to chip in on this discussion as another Minnesotan! And, also, I don't know what I prefer - I like rubber straps and bracelets in hot weather - but I am delighted to find out about Forstner! Just ordered one for my Aqua Terra even though I dig the rubber strap. Variety is the spice of life 😉 🍻

·

If the bracket has a quick adjust option then I’ll always tend to go with that. If not then NATO or rubber for sue during hot months.
