I think I'm covered , but the BB58 may possibly go. I welcome all opinions.

Achieved MY ideal Air, Land, Sea collection.

Technically the Air also includes space, which I've seen the Aerospace Evo do with some astronauts.

Aerospace Evo is my work watch.I As a commercial pilot it is very handy, with the dual time zone, backlight, and alarmfunctions.

The Explorer 1 handles all duties on the day to day, I even recently took it on a 3 week trip to Europe and it performed superbly.

I don't really visit the water much, so I'm considering selling the BB58 since both the Explorer 1 and Aerospace Evo can handle 100m of water.

What does the WatchCrunch fam think? Should I break off the BB58 since I rarely were it nowadays, ever since the Explorer 1 took over the wrist and is a great GADA.

Question before suggestion:

These are only tool watches, what is your opinion about replace the diver-Tudor-BB58 by a dressier piece?

Yes, full kit, except hang tag. And I'll even throw in an unworn black Tudor hat with the red shield logo. Bought from AD 10/2020, so 3 years left of warranty still.

I'm seldom in any dressy situation, which I feel the Explorer 1 could handle.

The only watch I’ve ever regretted selling is the explorer 1.  Tudor would make sense to sell.  Keep the Explorer   Love this!  Also, I must admit there is almost as much fun in reducing a collection as there is in building one.

Dang et!! So tempting…I was at my Ad Saturday and was trying on some BB58’s…

The problem you have with the tudor (if i were to guess because i have the same problem) is that the tudor is visually similar to the rolex at a glance - the triangle at 12, writing on top and bottom of the dial and imo the mercedes hands is the similar to the hands on the tudor.

However, and this is key; that breitling is visually striking but only compared to the other two.

The breitling only looks good at first glance because of the size of the numbers on the dial but otherwise is too busy and looks cheaper the more you look at it comparatively speaking

My advice: Trash the breitling and replace it with something visually different from the other two.

Very nice

·

The Tudor isn't costing you anything to keep and your mood might change someday. It has more flex and brand power than that big Breitling.

·

Move the BB58.  It's not as versatile as the Explorer or as weird and cool as the Evo.

Breitling is not going anywhere.

I don't see much resemblance between the Rolex and Tudor, other than that they're 3 hand, no date watches.

I personally love the Breitling, it doesn't look cheap to me, nor do I want it to look expensive. It's my actual tool watch. And so far it's the one that has received the most compliments when I wear it. It's also not too busy, as opposed to a Navitimer or a Sinn 856 UTC maybe.

But thanks for sharing your perspective.

Congrats. It’s all about how you want the collection to keep evolving. Personally Tudors do absolutely nothing for me… they’re like the Coldplay of watches. You’ve got Frank with the Explorer (timeless, elegance, quality, versatility) and GnR with the Aerospace (gritty, determined, purposeful, unique). Maybe pick up a pop act with one of the new SuperOceans, or Oris Upcycle or even a micro like Helm??

thanks for posting 👍🏻

Thank you. I don't really care for flex or brand power. I like to be as understated as possible, as ironic as that sounds with a Rolex on the wrist lol.

But yes the Tudor isn't costing me anything to keep until maybe 3 years down the road come service time.

·

Don't break up the triumvirate, please🙏

·

Could the Tudor turn into something else?  My default suggestions are a DOXA or a GO Senator.

·

Collection looks great as is, I think the BB58 provides nice amount of colour (looks more vibrant compared to the Aerospace).

However, I also believe you can sell it off and use that to fund a holiday or something you'd enjoy.

·

I was hoping it'd fly a plane for me but alas 😂

·

Congrats on getting a land/sea/air set!  I had the same collection theme also, but I wanted 3 in each category so that I could have a ‘watch for every occasion’.  It’s a great theme to set a collection on, imho.

·

I love the surf, turf & sky theme for your collection.  All three pieces are damn nice but I couldn’t get sentimental over any of them.  You have done great assembling the collection and I have no doubt that you will make the right decisions to improve it.

·

In my humble opinion, the Breitling should be the one to go.  Great 3 watch comb 👊🏽

·

Nice 3 watch collection you have there. I tend to get a little bored with some watches over time, so I get it. If it were me, I'd find something that I liked, no, wait, loved and had to have, and use the BB58 as either trade bait or flip it and use the cash for the new watch. Unless you need the money for something important, I'd hold onto it until it's replacement provided the proper motivation to move it along. If, down the road, you missed it, they seem easy enough to source. As always, YMMV

·

Well, ultimately you are the best person to judge whether to sell or to keep. I have the same watch and it wears very comfortable to say the least. For me, the BB58 is actually amongst the top in terms of wrist times. Of course I don’t own a lot of watches as compared to some of our WC members. But I would keep the BB58 as I think it is a watch worth to keep. 🍻

·

I hear it's the most resold current watch by a factor of two.

·

@atxzizou I am in similar predicament, shall I keep or sell BB58 to fund Rolex Explorer1 - what did you do in the end!

·

@atxzizou question of your Evo. That black dial, does it look more gray in real life or proper back? I was at an AD and he kept telling me that the gray dial is the Black but it looks nothing like in the pictures!

Aside from that, what are your thoughts of the watch? I find it amazing for a daily wear but would be good to hear your thoughts of it.

Apparently there might be a new version released this year as well.

Under bright light it looks grey but in a darker environment it is more black. Your AD is right, the official name for this dial is Volcano Black.

As far as the watch is concerned it is amazing. I wear it almost on a daily basis, mainly for flying and during layovers but I also feel like it dresses up better than my other watches. I no longer have the Explorer 1, but I have the Explorer II and for suit and tie affairs I usually opt for the Evo. It's a great daily and all-rounder I can't recommend it enough.

There was a rumour there might be a new model released this year, but I've also heard it might not come until next year so who knows!
