Watches I didn’t take on a trip gets wrist time today. Some old friends go on rotation and I’m reminded why I got them.

I brought four watches to a work trip. Because I felt that I needed a secret boost for me for the challenging days. But coming home I give the other watches a turn. There was a time when they ruled the days. Hamilton KFA 38 for a relaxing lunch out with my wife. I see this as Hamilton’s Explorer—clear dial, simplicity of function and straightforward design. 😎😃

I like how you put that, "a secret boost." Honestly I think that describes why I love my watches. They are my tiny, under the radar companions and we keep each other going - as long as I keep moving, so will they.

Well put yourself. These small marvels keep us ticking. Silent support companions. Nobody will notice the watches on our wrists. I don’t go looking at another’s watch either. 9 out of ten it will be an Apple Watch. But there are a few who break from the herd. Then I give that a equally stealth nod as well. 😎😃

It sure is. Comfortably reliable. It keeps me from buying another field watch. I like to look but I have not acquired yet. Besides I’ve an SNK805 which also is an affordable charmer of a field watch.

Oh that hilarious. I have the same SNK805 too. I really like the Hammy Murph but can’t justify replacing the KFA, basically the same watch with cathedral hands and movie heritage.

I know what you mean about the sized down Murph. I could not choose the original because it’s too big, I felt. But when the Murph 38mm came out, it was perfect for my small wrist—had no excuse now. I passed. I have similar Hamilton’s already and my watch quest had moved to different watches by then.

The SNK800 series still rules and remains a favorite. The watch forums on Reddit where not a week that goes by that there wouldn’t be a post by someone starting their collecting journey with an SNK809 or SNK&05. They are amazing for what you get for such an easy entry level price.
