My SARB033 was squeezed between my GADA watches - Now it stands out from the crowd

The SARB033 is a fantastic watch. The glossy black dial and the sharp polished indicis creates a stunning dial close to Grand Seiko level. Unfortunately it has a severe competition between my other GADA watches. I tend to choose the SARB035 or the Explorer most times before the SARB033. I’m been thinking of selling it or trade in for another watch.

In a post a couple of month ago about salmon dials I commented that I thought the Seiko SARB037 is a beautiful watch but expensive on the pre loved market if you are able to find one. Our common friend @thiago  picked up the comment and made me aware of the fact that UncleSeiko had salmon homage dials. Branded Seiko but also ”Uncle” and ”SARB037 US” to avoid to pretend it’s the original.

I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to let the SARB033 find a new place in my collection. I ordered the dial with the knowledge that the salmon dial was for a SARB035 but that one I didn’t want to change. I’m too fond of it. So I also had to order a white date wheel to make this work. It turned out that this was trickier than expected. No original white datewheel were to be found anywhere. Finally I found a white, all lume, non original wheel from China. The delivery time from there is not the quickest so my original plan to make this one of my summer watches took a hit.

Finally it arrived this Monday and today I could pick up my first mod. The SARB037 US version. Still on the strap I used for the black version. Next project will be to decide what the perfect strap would be. I’m very pleased with the result. What do you say, you like?

Thank you. I also did some search on Chrono24 for another white when I had hard times finding a date wheel. But they were expensive.

Fantastic work.

Eeeh, I didn’t do the actual modding myself. That’s well above my competence. My watchmaker did it. But I did put some work in, looking for parts😎

Still gorgeous. Also "my watchmaker" is a wonderful thing to be able to say.

Stunner!

Great way to add some diversity! One reason I don't wear my SARB033 anymore is due to the fact that I have other watches that fit the same rule, somewhat similar to you and your other GADA watches.

I probably won't change the dial on mine, since I still like to use it for those nights where I might have a bit too much to drink, however definitely interesting knowing the option is out there.

Yes the salmon version loose contrast between the dial and the hands but will compensate in sunlight during the day. Fully readable after a daytime bar crawl, I think🥂

Nice solution.
