How Many Watches are You Changing the Date on Today?!

Oh, February...we love you. Today, March 1st, is the day I realize how many date complication pieces I have! Only two of them are perpetual calendars, so there seems to be a little task at hand to flip all these "29's" to "1's!"

I leave the dead autos alone, obviously, and just change the few in rotation and my quartz pieces. What's your gameplan?

I was living the best February 29, until I was your post. Hello March!

·

I’ve only had to change 2 so far. The others are all wrong at the moment anyway.

·

I change them the next time I wear them.

Haha! Me too! Check out my IG for 9 more “29” photos from the roll. I remembered right before bed last night, actually.

I can’t wear a watch with the wrong date…I rely upon it too much! I’ve been wearing a no-date watch a lot recently and I’m constantly looking down for the date that isn’t there. I’ve come to realize it may be one of my most favorite (dependent) complications.

That seems to be the plan for most rational collectors! Guess I die by the “grab and go” theory.

Me too for sure. I use the date constantly (why can't I just remember it?) They're wrong at the moment because they're stopped.

Was nice to put this on this morning, with the date already correct! #seiko #perpetualcalendar

Indeed. And I have quite a few vintage pieces that are not quick set. Oh, the joy of this hobby!

·

Wore my perpetual today for exactly this reason!

·

Did two the one on my wrist plus my quartz seiko after seing my dw5610 date was on march first.

But I did my all collection afterwork just for the kick of it. Noticing different feeling BTW. Is it a seekness ? Of course yes!

Me too! It’s a little justification, right? 😜

All my autos have dates, three of which are day dates.  I only bothered with the Orient Ray 2 that I am using.  The other autos are "asleep", and they'll be adjusted accordingly.

There used to be a time when I swore I couldn't wear a watch without a date complication.  I also swore that I couldn't live without the little red LED notification light on my smart phone...

... well, time has come and gone and I got used to not relying on either.  :)

37 here.  I may have a problem…

·

Only one........ but........... wait for it. That's 'coz it's on my wrist, and I'd probably have to adjust the rest later when I want to wear them. 😂

You had it easy…way to go! I have three autos running right now, so changed those and the quartz pieces on me (traveling).

·

That’s probably the easiest method, right?! But I actually enjoy tinkering with them…the date is just an excuse!

I remember the red light on the phone! Forgot all about that. Uhhhhh…if I don’t have the date on my watch, I need my phone handy.

Living the simple life!

wait a minute y'all keep them running all the time ? Only one of my watches are running at any given time.

I was primarily referring to quartz. I’ve got about 3 autos in rotation at any given time…so I changed those. Remaining automatics will get changed before the next wear, as you would normally do regardless of March 1st. But, I USED to keep all my autos running. I liked to time their accuracy, and it was fun just fiddling with them every day or two. Now I keep it to just a few under power. But some collectors keep everything on winders…!

My Casio Oceanus is quite happy switching from 28 - 1.

Deserved flex my friend! Beautiful piece. Seems like they’re starting to come out of the woodwork.

l am on my third watch this week which I needed to adjust the date. I realized today I might not be the best owner of a perpetual calendar watch. Once a year, I would have only one job and it might take a few days to realize I didn’t do it. Happy February 31!

There’s plenty of other work for you after April, June, September, and November! But a perpetual calendar piece will put you out of business! 🤣
