How my integrated bracelet stainless steel watches make me feel: Rolex, A Lange & Sohne & Bremont

https://youtu.be/3aDzeQ98QU0

I recently bought the Bremont Supernova, and it feels sensational.

The supernova is my third integrated bracelet stainless steel watch, after my 1978 vintage Rolex Oyster Quartz and my A Lange & Sohne Odysseus.

Arguably, all three watches fit into the same genre that has been around for 50 years and it’s one that is still growing in popularity, decades after first making an appearance.

These other two watches feel fabulous too, but in different ways and for very different reasons.

Initially, I wondered whether it might be interesting to do a comparison and review of all three of these watches in detail - they all have integrated stainless steel bracelets, after all.

But then I started to dig a little deeper into my personal motivations; the reasons why I made every one of these purchases and how & why each of these watches make me feel as they do…

And I concluded that, actually, for me, the fact that these watches happen to be stainless steel and that they happen to have integrated bracelets was not the primary driver.

Sure - I love the bracelets on these watches - they’re a large part of the overall watch experience. I also love the way each of them looks - you can take that as read - but what really makes these watches feel great and what gives them significance, purpose and meaning beyond their core design & functionality is inextricably linked to my perception of and my relationship with not just the watches themselves & their bracelets but the watch brands.

That’s how I feel. At the core of it all, the brand is important to me. And What I think and feel, is all that really matters, to me at least. That’s at the root of my watch enthusiasm. It’s emotional. And if you’re anything like me, I suspect that much the same stands to reason for you too.

So I thought I’d compare the three watch brands and how they make me feel.

So that’s what this video is about.

I'd wear that Odysseus all the time. I might forget I have other watches for awhile. How many years would equal awhile is up for discovery.

Honestly, there are times when I do !

but the Supernova has stolen my attention for the time being…

I’m not watching any video about Bremont.  They trashed their own reputation.

You need to look with better eyes than that IMHO… Bremont are doing fantastic things. Besides, it’s not just a video about Bremont…

I can’t speak for DaveMCC but I suspect it’s got something to do with this: https://youtu.be/7eg81-b-Jko

My own view, is that Bremont have taken huge strides since and are today doing something admirable. of course, not everyone will agree. IMHO they’re one to watch!

Not just that.  They have a knack for associating themselves with people and things to which they have no legitimate connection.  There seems no limit to their “borrowed valour”.  The Wright Brothers.  The Concorde.  Steven F-ing Hawking!!!

I’m surprised they haven’t raised the HMS Hood to sell scraps of teak deck.  Oops, did I just leak their next marketing gimmick?

I think these people have no shame.

They are a young company investing in their home turf and doing things their own way (e.g., trip-tick case, MB anti-shock tech, etc.). I love their LEs and how they create the associations, which are largely genuine and reflective of the owners' interests and brand ethos. Level of hate/dislike seems unjustified and off the charts.

I agree with @Davemcc re: Bremont. Companies (especially ones with little history) shouldn’t get to lie to their customers, only confess and offer an half-hearted apology when caught with their hand in the cookie jar and then be instantly forgiven. Nope. It is going to be a long time before I am OK with Bremont.
