Christopher Ward C1 Moonglow

Some watches have been to the moon and others immortalize it.  The Christopher Ward C1 Moonglow is the latter.  As the name implies the feature is the Super-LumiNova® Grade X1 GL and how it lights the dial. Nothing is cooler than stepping outside into the dark and comparing the phase of the moon in the night sky to what is lit up on your dial.  My only criticism of this dial is that Christopher Ward uses two moons which means a full rotation happens in 59 days and while one moon face is in play, you can plainly see the other moon due to the translucency of the cover which doesn’t really hide it much.  You will also see the date which is located on the outer most ring in the style of a perpetual calendar and indicated by a marker which rotates just inside of that.  The moonphase, date hour minute and second are all brought to you by the JJ04 in-house module.  The case size is 40.5 mm diameter x 12.35 mm tall and fits nicely under a cuff.  I bought mine with a stainless mesh bracelet which changes to a link bracelet for easy adjustment near the clasp.  With two links removed the watch fits and wears very comfortably on my 7 ½” wrist.  I like this watch very much.  My wife would like them to make the same watch in a smaller diameter for her.

Good review. I also have this beauty and wish the translucent shade in the bottom half was just a bit more opaque.

I like this better than the one that has Christopher Ward spelled out on the dial.  I kinda wish they had the logo only.

·

This is the only moonphase watch that appeals to me. As @Relvee has mentioned, if the translucent shade were more opaque I think I'd be very interested in adding one to my collection.

I’m like a moth to to the lume.  Sweet moons.
