"The WatchCrunch Valentine's Challenge"

Okay everyone, this is just for fun and bragging rights.  In a few weeks St. Valentine’s Day will be upon us.  So your task is to pick out a watch to gift a Lady that will impress her. Your budget is $75,000. US so you have most of the reasonable watches in the world available.  You have until January 31 to submit your best watch.  Starting Feb 1 through Valentine’s Day we would like ladies to consider which watch submitted was their favorite and vote for it.

I will risk going first.  Although I know my wife’s aesthetic and the Lange and Cartier models she has her eyes on, I am going to take a risk and go with a watch that caught my eye when looking for the most romantic movement of them all, the moon phase.  May I present my choice, The Bulgai Lucea Moon Phase.  Released at Basilworld 2017, The Lucea case of two-tone gold and steel, 36mm, automatic Caliber BVL 210, pink gold bezel, cabochon-cut stone with a diamond on the pink gold crown; white mother-of-pearl dial with diamond indexes; shiny purple alligator strap with a pink gold ardillon buckle.

I hope my choice will have all of the Ladies of WatchCrunch seeing no other Valentine.  Your turn.

Can you believe this Brequet is only $50k?

Well......my wife has a very discriminate taste in watches. She is a vintage gal. So here's what I worked on for the past six months. I found one in this dial design and it's hard to find. Got it running and polished crystal and new strap. Wow it pops! It replace her faded version. She's had it for 40 years. We'll add that watch to the vintage family watch box.

Here's the watch! Lol

It's a Lorus Mickey watch lol. I love her. She would never buy a 75000 watch let alone a 500 watch. I'm happy!

Cheers!

This bag contains $74,990. Buried in it somewhere is an F91W that will be tossed aside when eventually encountered.

If my wife found out I spent $75,000 on a watch for her, I'd be spending Valentine's Day in the dog house for sure.

You're gonna say, "That's just for you!" and you'd be right.

Wife doesn't like watches, doesn't wear one EVER, but if I got this, she gets the balance and we're both happy. Win-win.

Great idea!

Gotta say. That Bulgari moonphase is a very strong start. ❤️

I hope that we share the same taste in watches Kaysia.  I may be calling on you after my wife kicks me out for not selecting her Little Lange One.

Leaning into valentine's day I'd go blancpain.

But honestly knowing my wife (and not counting a personal build) tiffany blue oyster perpetual or a small two tone santos.

A bit of  dark hummor

With that kind of budget I could get the whole set and still have money left over for a Lange for myself! But seriously my gf would rock the hell outta an original Keith Haring Swatch.

·

An F91W and this...

She doesn't drive but I'm sure she'd be thrilled just to see the smile on my face. 😁

·

Guys, I think we aren't understanding the purpose of the large budget.  The idea is to choose a watch that will appeal to as many of the Ladies who respond to this without having to be concerned about the high price of attractive luxury brand watches. None of the budget goes towards anything but the watch to be gifted to her.  Please return the sports car.

Went back and forth on some pieces with aventurine dials, but I always kept going back to one piece, so that's what I'll choose. I had to go Cartier and some warm red tones, keeping with the Valentine theme.

My choice is the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Rose Gold Deep Ruby

Ooo... hard to resist a Cartier 😍

We got it early but she’s already said this is what she’s wearing for Valentines

Image

So, I’ll need to borrow @gbelleh ’s bag for the rest of the gift!

Nice duo face.  I'll bet that made her smile.

My girl would dig Piaget like the Limelight Gala - white gold and aventurine or gold and malachite

Celine, fabulous choices especially that VC.  Feel free to gift me one, lol.  You should have offered these during part 1 of the challenge so they could be included in the challenge.  At this time, I would like you to choose your favorite of the watches that were offered before Feb 1st.  I especially want you to choose mine but my fellow Crunchers have offered some extraordinary choices.

But the Winter Lovers has my vote (despite the Cartier being more versatile and, well, classy).

·

Just for being spot on for Valentine the winter lovers would be my first choice, second one the Moon Phase, and they would be perfect if they had a plain bezel with no diamonds. I love diamonds, just not on a watch.

For something more ’me‘ it would be the red Omega in the list of red watches :-)

I missed Part 1, oh well next time.

As much as I love the Bulgari Lucea, my vote is for the stunning Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF. Gorgeous gorgeous piece.
