Story about a boy and an his apple watch (true story)

a few years ago a boy lets call it anonymous (absolutely me) buy an apple watch.

at that point he already have a few quartz watch (fossil, swatch, and a g shock) that he really didnt care about it and thinking it is an obsolete technology.

he love his new watch, costumize it, take a photo of it, and buy a few accesories for it.

omg he thinks this watch can be classic (with leather strap) and can be sporty too just like a g shock (with a case and rubber strap from spigen if i remember correctly). and damn you can change the watch face too whatever you like depends on your mood. what a cutting edge technology.

about 2 years later apple was released a new series of apple watch which look like same but with better tech in it. at that time he found inconvinience when wearing his apple watch like poor performance, battery draining really fast, vibrating when someone message or calling him (become really annoying).

so on one night which he dont really remember the date or the day when he's charging his beloved watch in his bedside table and go to sleep, the next morning when he's checking his watch it wasnt charged and the case feel very hot just like a molten lava. at this point he became confused , dont know where he is, and what the f is happening.

a few hours later he doing some research find it isnt serviceable and came to the conclusion that in a 2 years he's wearing a piece of sht. all of the strap, case, accesories becoming a pile of junk.

and then he's started to buy a watch and i mean a real watch this time.

(the end)

I think you perfectly explain the problem with the Apple Watch... The only good thing about it is that is the reason that's make you into "real watches".

Isn't this pretty much the story of ... hmmmm....everyone?😜

What a good story! when I jumped to a Smartwatch about 3 years ago, I thought that too, in my case I wanted to be connected all the time to my cell phone, especially for work, and like you I thought that my daily watches would not have more use, than some occasional one or for collecting, now I am the opposite, I want to disconnect from the world when I leave work and I came back to using and buying as you say "real watches", my SmartWatch is now only used for my bike training.

nowadays disconnected are more fun than alwasy connected with the world. im using cheap smartband too for my cycling exercise, just for monitoring my heart rate.

Im into watches since all my life, but I started the actual love of watches in 2005, in around 2014 when the rumors of Apple Watch and I had a pebble smartwatch, people start asking my opinion, what I suggested to all wrist watch lover is to always buy the cheaper one.. I’m an Apple Watch user sine 2015 and believe me is very hard to let go because it’s so comfortable that you don’t need to take your phone out of the pocket every notification, plus all the health shortcuts…

Thats true, i think the heart monitor are really useful if you do some exercise. But battery life, etc isnt good though. I gave up the apple watch after it failed to charge. I think garmin and other sport smartwatch are better for exercise use
