weeks ago i got some request to be one of the groomsmen for my best friend wedding (been doing this about 6 times ๐), and im telling you chinese wedding are one of the most complicated wedding ceremony on the entire universe, there are alot rules that the bride must follow. im very happy for him and his wife. as a man who wear garmin all the time he ask whats the appropriate watch for a wedding and i give him some reccomendation mostly entry level dresswatch but at last he choose a chronograph.
a seiko spirits sbtr027 "jdm daytona". i guess it fits well with his sporty personality (i would borrow and review it soon from him ๐). and im wearing my only dresswatch an orient bambino in this day.
ย i hope someday when he's looking at this watch he would remember this day, the start for his new chapter in his life. and i wish him and his wife a good life๐บ๐บ. and im just wondering whats your wedding watch? and if you are not married yet what would it be? cheers

absolutely, a little bit tired though. too much ceremony rules on the asian wedding on my country lol. whats your wedding watch im wondering @HotWatchChick69 ? i bet is isnt gs yet ๐
Thanks for sharing your experience with us and the best of luck to the new bride and groom. ย I think the Seiko Chrono and Bambino were excellent choices and very appropriate watches without spending stupid amounts of money. ย I got married in the local Judges office and wore a Tissot PR50 but if I was to do it over today I think it would be the Grand Seiko or a Seiko Presage. Seiko and Grand Seiko make so many beautiful dress watches. ย If I had a crazy amount of money I might buy a Calatrava or a 222 but these ultimate dress watches really wouldn't get much use as they would spend most of the time in a box waiting for the next special dress up ย occasion. ย
Very cool! Thanks for sharing. ย That first picture is great. As someone who was born and raised in the New York area, Italian weddings are very much the same. Spend a fortune on the receptions and plan the event for over a year and it's over in one night. ย The memories are priceless though. Beautiful young couple and it was nice you were such a special part of it and helped out with your watch knowledge.ย

omg is it so sir? i was gonna explain it but afraid many of you guys dont understand, but now you said it im glad you know the tradition. i guess there is some similarities on the chinese and italian to spent a fortune on wedding party which i dont think its necessary. it is better to saved the money to some other needs, or buy a nicer watch i guess ๐๐
Great watches and more importantly great times. I hope they had a fantastic day. And you can't beat a cheeky bamboo.ย
Thank you for sharing your story and beautiful pictures. Very nice. But best man for your best friend 6 times! He looks so young still๐ค
Congratulations to your buddy. Nice watches! I'm running a poll to see which dress watch I should wear to a friend's wedding this summer... https://www.watchcrunch.com/Calumets/posts/which-watch-11558

Congrats to your buddy and his wife. Well done to you for your duties!
Chinese weddingsโฆ. Tea pouring and FOOD! Oh, the food! Have I mentioned the food? If anyone has never been, find yourself a Chinese friend whoโs engaged and get yourself invited (thatโs my PSA for the dayโฆ).
I donโt really believe in marriageโฆbut if we were to be invited to one or if Miss Chunghauphoto says โmarry me or Iโm leavingโ or if someone said โif you get married, then all the worldโs problems will disappearโโฆthen Iโd probably wear my Longines Heritage Conquest (I wore it to my brotherโs wedding - which had great food btw). Probably on a black strap but itโd depend on the outfit, of course
Cool! You guys look like a bunch of teenagers ๐โฆlooks like fun!
I've never been but, if Unholy has a B-Man gig out Minnesota way I'd be more then happy to tag along๐
you re welcome to tag along, if it is out minnesota ๐
Got married in this guy underneath the Golden Gate bridge. ย
Though on the OEM toile de voile strap rather than crocodile.
We had a full Christian ceremony and reception and a full Chinese ceremony and banquet which is about as crazy as it seems on the face of it.
I remember very little specifically of my wedding, only the happy blur of familiar faces and emotions. ย The watch, frankly, I remember only because of photographs!
great choice for a wedding watch my friend ๐๐
Ha! ย I don't think I was even wearing a watch at that time!
Amazing that we could all go through life without any interest whatsoever in watches, not needing them in our lives, and then we get bitten by the bug... ย and now 10 watches, well, that's a ridiculously small number and how can anyone in their right mind possibly live with only 10???
how the times change (after the bug bite) ๐
What a great wedding and groomsman story! Thanks for sharing, and that Orient Bambino is a great choice! When I got married, I wore a Relic watch I had received as a 5 year employment gift.
thx for sharing my friend ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Your elegant photos hark me to images of the Godfather trilogy.ย
indeed it is. the chinese ripoff of godfather trilogy, avaible on dvd ๐
I got married wearing one of these:
Yeah, I was that cool.
i dont knoy you are a hypebeast back in the day sir, very classy ๐บ
The mass wedding phase passes once all of your friends get married. ย You will look back and remember it, I certainly do along with all the good times. ย I wish your friends all the best as they start their journey. ย I wore my Seiko 6309 diver to my wedding thirty years ago. ย It sums up who I was, and who I am. ย This is all that matters in the end.
thank you sir. good choice of watch, is it turtle predecessor?
The crazy thing about the 222. ย My wife bought a preowned woman's 222 years ago for chump change. ย Now with the rerelease of the Vacheron 222 the prices have gone through the stratosphere. ย It is now the most valuable watch that we have. ย It has out performed our 401Ks by 3000 %.
damn, youre lucky ๐คฏ
I would of thought you guys were the Seiko Brothers.
actually only the groom wears a seiko. the other two wearing an orient bambino and a swatch ๐
Iโm going to get married this September and of course there is one watch in my collection that is perfect for that day. My DJ41
well congratulations my friend. i hope it all goes well ๐๐ป๐๐ป. also cant go wrong with the datejust, good choice
I wore a Tissot PR100 titanium quartz - the first watch I bought with money I earned. Wasn't into watches then. Looking back now I wish I got a gold JLC master date, or a GS! Something to embody the wedding story, or rather the perfect excuse to splurge ๐คฃ๐คฃ esp since the brides get all the fun spending on bling and dresses!
