Watch Crunch introduction post and SOTC
Hello everyone
I wanted to take the time to introduce myself as I've just joined Watch Crunch.
I'm a 28 year old guy who's been seriously interested in watches for about 2,5 years now. It all started when I decided to buy a bronze case AVI-8 Eagle Squadron. I hadn't owned a watch in years at this point and it made me re-discover my love for them. It made me spiral into the watch hobby / obsession and I took the next 2,5 years to figure out my preferences.
Many watches have come and gone meanwhile, some of which I now miss of course. But I had my reasons for selling each and every one of those (Seiko Baby Alpinist, Seiko Presage, Longines Spirit, Timex MK1,..).
But I'm glad to say I am currently extremely happy with where my collection is at. I always try to keep to a five watch collection so every piece gets some wrist time. Over the years I've noticed I prefer simple 3-handers or tool watches.
Here's an overview shot of my collection as it stands.
From left to right:
Grand Seiko SBGX097. This is my 37mm 9F quartz dress watch with a teal dial. I was lucky to find this piece in Europe and absolutely love wearing it.
Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical. The quintessential field watch, but in the white dial variant. Just about any strap works on this piece and it works so well to go hiking.
IWC Mark XVIII. My everyday piece and a long time favourite. I just love the simple design language and thin case. IWC is by far my favourite watch brand atm.
IWC Spitfire Chronograph. My grail, recently bought this on my birthday while on holiday. This one is never leaving the collection.
Casio World Timer. The ultimate beater watch with a bunch of cool complications. What more can you want?

That is a great collection. I think a 5 watch collection is the perfect size. I have more watches than that right now, but would like to work to that size one day.
