What's your favourite tool watch for work?

I researched and after many months I found a tool watch that could take a beating, be accurate and it had to be waterproof. This lead me to the Dievas Marine Master 500m.

ETA movement, so reliable and robust, lefthand crown so it doesn't dig into my wrist while I'm on the tools at work, great lume so I can see it still glowing while I work in the wee hours of the night and a timing bezel for those times when I'm welding some rail into track.

For what was around this with it's hardened metal case seemed a great candidate at just over 1K AUD.

My job on the railway isn't kind to watches so the watch had to be tough and of course look the part.

So what's you tool or work watch?

Whether you work in an office or out in the field using heavy machinery like myself, we all need an accurate time piece and yes you could use a phone, but this forum is not called PhoneCrunch after all 😂

Ooh that's nice! I've been wearing an Invicta Pro Diver at work since I got it last week. I already put a small nick on on of the outer edges of a lug. Usually I just pick out one of my G Shocks and go with that for the day.

I’ve had a few G-Shocks over the years but their all gone bar one which my son liked so I gave it to him.

I really should get another one, such great watches that can take a beating and if you do manage to break it, well at least it didn’t cost you a fortune and easily replaced.

Those Invicta’s are good watches as well for what you pay, purchased 2 38mm quartz divers for my two boys, that would be 5 years or so ago and they still work great, I haven’t timed them but they still seem to keep good time. I know there are a lot of Invicta haters but personally I think their good watches. As I always say “wear what you like, not what others like 👍

Take care my friend 🙏🏻

oh man, that's a beauty! Love how tool-tastic it looks!

Im an IT tech so i dont need anything super rugged, but I tend to lean on my Casio Duro, G-SHOCK GWM5610-1, or whatever Chinese diver im feeling for the week.

I  am a HVAC contractor so I need to have a durable watch that can handle getting knocked around. I love quartz based watches for this reason, I own many mechanical timepieces but for hard work that requires impact resistance it is hard to beat a quartz. I like this Vaer D4 Meridian because it gives you that vintage dive watch look with a rugged solar quartz movement. These also run in the $350.00 USD range so if you destroy it you don’t feel too bad. #vaer

Those Fricker cases are coo!  I wish I had the wrist for one (Dievas, not Kobold).

hello, nice watch you got there. i work at small construction business at managing the worker. this two got most of my wrist time while working. always to match with my boots colour 😂

I really like the dial on that watch and the "I'm not messing around" Bezel.

I actually only have two watches that I don't consider tool watches. One is my dads Timex from the 80s which I keep for the memories and the other is a Beaufort Aerotimer that I reserve for any dressier thing that may come up in the future. The rest are all sub $500 watches that I either mod/built myself or picked up because I thought it was nice and it could take a few bangs. I'm desk job guy but it's IT not shirt and tie stuff so prestige watches are either not noticed or as a consultant they think my hourly rate may be to high lol.  All of my personal projects outside of the 9-5 are hands on things so I like watches that look nice but look cool with a few scars with no worry about resale.

Man that’s seriously a good looking watch, I know Vaer as a brand but I’ve never seen that model before.

I know what you mean about durability at work, working on track around heavy machinery watches don’t last long, so I used to rock a G-Shock but my son pinched it, which is cool 😎

Might just have to check out Vaer again, so thank you for sharing mate 🙏🏻

Mate either watch is great. Seiko’s you just can’t go wrong and I like those new models, very field in style and being a Seiko you know it’s going to last.

I’ve looked at Laco numerous times in the past because I love the German history behind the brand and like pilots watches. I tossed up between one like your own and an Aristo field watch, I ended up with the Aristo, for now anyway👍

Thanks for sharing my friend and don’t work those boys to hard, a good boss is a fair boss 👍 20 odd years of being a supervisor on the railway has taught me that 🙏🏻

Mate you would be surprised how well they fit, I only have a 7 inch wrist and the case is only 39mm and 40mm at the bezel, so you might just pull it off.

Also for the style of the watch it’s not meant to look small on your wrist, it’s a chunky tool watch.

Thanks for sharing mate👍 Take care of yourself 🙏🏻

That's interesting I took a quick look on their site and thought damn I don't think my 7" wrist can pull that off.

I tried modding watches but just don’t have the patience 🤣 so kudos to you for achieving that, your a better man than me 👍

I’ve owned so many watches over the years it would be impossible to count, but I still have my very first watch, a Seiko 5 it still runs so I put a new crystal on it last year (that’s the extent of my modding skills) it’s one I’m keeping for my oldest son, who luckily appreciates watches already at 17.

I like how your holding onto your dad’s old watch, knowing he used to wear it every day, looking down at it so he knew what time it was makes it more special, well in my opinion anyway. Maybe because I’m a dad as well and I hope that’s what my son thinks of when I pass away. irreplaceable memories are buddy 🙏🏻

Wow, they've right-sized them, nice!  In 2012 or so, I think they were like 45mm with a 54mm L2L.

Love Damasko, have the same one with the blue. 2 years on and still not a mark to be seen anywhere on the watch.

I have my eye on a Marathon, but definitely a quartz for work due to accuracy as I work around trains and timing is everything.

Thanks for sharing my friend, great watches both of them 👍🏼

As I posted the other day, my Sinn is one of my fav's in my collection and if I'm not at work that's the one I always pick up first.

The Navigator is a great quartz, mine is running well under 15 seconds a month.

I think a TSAR will be added to my collection at some point as well.

Yeah, there is just something about that watch.  If I could only keep one watch, it would be that one.

I’m with you on that choice, it’s probably the one watch I would keep if I had to choose.

There’ just something about the simplicity of the design that makes it a winner in my opinion, dress it up or put it on a Nato for work, it just works 😘

These are 39mm and the L2L I’m not sure but it would be roughly 47mm. Fit’s my 7 inch wrist great 👍
