It arrived at last, my MMI TURRET MARINE CHRONOGRAPH BISMARCK YELLOW TRC-05 and my recount of the 1WC so far and the competitors involved.

Okay, by all means not a review of the watch, but a longish post much akin to HotWatchChick69's, sorry guy's bear with me on this one.

It arrived and I've looked it over for any QC issues, which there are none "TF"

Packaging is very basic, but I didn't pay for elaborate packing, just a good watch. The dial is stunning, in person it's more of an orange than a yellow which I like, the pictures don't do it any justice. The case finishing is spot on for a watch sub $500 AUD. The watch has some heft to it but not overly heavy when I draped it over my wrist and it still has all it's links so it will weigh a little less once sized. The date complication is certainly different, but not that easy to see at a glance, but I'm not much of a date complication person, so I knew and accepted this before I purchased the watch. The lume is outstanding and they even lumed their logo on the crown and the sud dial hands which looks cool. The bracelet is solid and seems to be well constructed, screwed links will make it easy to adjust, the clasp is only pressed but with 5 micro adjustments but I should be able to get a good fit.

All and all I think I've done well and think the watch is definitely worth the asking price 👍🏼

I've taken some photo's, left the plastics on, not sized the bracelet for my wrist. Then placed it all back in the box and into the cupboard to be worn at a later date.

My reasoning for these actions is this

1. If I completely unwrap the watch, resize the bracelet, all the things you do when you get a new toy, you're going to want to wear it, right?

2. I'm in this 1WC to win, that's it plain and simple, noting, not even a brand new shiny watch is going to make me loose my focus on the end goal here.

3. To be honest I don't care about the WC Swag, no it's not about the swag in the least, it's to prove a point, not only to myself having some degree of self control, but to show that I'm a man of my word and so I can gloat that I came out on top and rub that fact into the likes of.

Robairand the beautiful Seiko, but will it survive the gym day after day, only time will tell.

WatchYourIntruder& the ever popular CW and with it being new, still in his Honeymoon stage, but for how long with the temptation of his other beautiful watches in his collection.

chronotriggered& the CWC Quartz, what can I say, it's a quartz field watch built to last, but is his patience?

Chunghauphotowhom I think will be one of my main revivals here with his Longines Stunner, but he should of purchased the blue, just saying 👍

Davemcc& the Green Hulk coffee machine, obviously not a great morning person, always drinking coffee to stimulate himself or something.

unseenhero& the SARB which seems to have a new strap every other day to keep him interested and keep going in the challenge.

coldkey& one of watches I envy the most in the challenge, gorgeous Citizen, I think this watch should be the 1WC prize to be totally honest 🥰.

Velomax another stunning Seiko, oh sorry it's GS, my bad 😜.

thekriswith the Oris which I'm sure is going to look like a ship wreak by the time it comes off his wrist all green along with his arm looking gangrene 🤣.

Stephme& his sleeper watch, the Citizen may be one to look out for here, keeping a very low key I must say.

Deeperblue& her much loved Seiko 5, this one is my nemesis, the thorn in my side, the pain in my arse, tormenting me with that beautiful little blue watch, but with the arrival of her new Baltic courtesy of HotWatchChick69'er the temptation could prove to be too great and she may very well fold once it arrives 🤣

rocksinger89& the Fossil, people underestimate this man I'm sure and his watch, which could be to our own detriment, keep an eye on this guy, he will be in the top 5 100%

hakki501  and his simple but stunning little Seiko 5, living the closest to me we're always a day in front to the annoyance of others. What can I say, we can't help if you live on the wrong side of this little blue planet 😂

Edge168n& the JLC Master Geographic the most complicated watch in the challenge, but a definite stunner. Although I think he's trying to make us lose focus here by running a very generous auction for one of his watches and donating to a very worthy cause. Please check out his auction before it ends and support this very noble cause.

TheSharperTheBetter& the only other micro brand that I can see in this challenge and one that possibly could make the top 3, but we shall see how determined he can be.

So according to Aurelian there is only 16 of us that have survived to date, so I'm sure I have included everyone above. Good luck to you all my 1WC competitors, 3 weeks is just a day or so a way and only a week or so to we hit the 30 day mark. A great achievement, I think for everyone involved so far, we all have other beautiful watches to wear at any given time, but we all seem to be sticking to our guns and our word.

To wear this one watch for this amount of time, for me, is a reminder and possibly a wakeup call to, that you don't need countless watches to enjoy this hobby, just the right watches 💯

See you at the end guy's and gal's 🙏

That’s a sexy new watch, I’m sure it’s not at all lonely locked away on a drawer. But if it makes you feel any better, I’ve purchased 2 watches since this began, and obvi haven’t worn either.

As for my shipwreck watch, I can wear this thing forever. If my Arm falls off from the gangrene, I’ll just pick the watch up and get somebody to put it on my other wrist.

Lume on the crown is an unexpected twist.  I love the yellow.

Good to hear you have such dedication to the cause buddy. I know the feeling though, very tempting with the other new watches I have since this all started. My new Sinn, a Borealis, my birth year Seiko and now this one. It’s killing me 😭

I wish the photos would show the actual colour of the dial better, it’s a more mustard yellow, so it has a orange tinge to it. Great surprise though, much better than expected overall.

What’s killing you is buying so many watches…is what I’d say if I were a regular person. Since I’m not, well done!

Unfortunately all of the watches that are showing up now, were purchased before the challenge started. That’s the frustrating part 🤣

My secret strategy is to distract you all by selling off my collection (for charity!) in a fit of 1WC madness.

(Also shameless plug.  https://www.watchcrunch.com/Edge168n/posts/buy-a-watch-save-the-world-the-edge168n-homage-part-1-of-3-11191

The completely new 62mas Chrono is currently at $50.02 which is stupidly cheap even by AliExpress standards.  Justify my belief in efficient markets! Don't let @Ichibunz get away with it!)

In all seriousness, I feel like I'm running a marathon in dress shoes.  I've never been as envious of a 100m WR as I am now.

I’m determined AF, boi!!!

For reals though, I’m amazed with myself for posting this consistently. Wearing the watch 24/7 isn’t the challenge, what might get me in the end is actually forgetting to just post a picture, however it has turned into a little routine at this point,

Same here, on the weeknights when I’m at work, working night shifts, we have a team briefing at midnight to delegate the work. So after this I know it’s time to upload my watch shot for the day. The weekends are a little trickier though 🤣

·

btw, that MMI turret reminds me of a color swapped Tudor Heritage Chrono turned on its side.  I really dig it.

·

Personally, I think you should start wearing it every day, but you know, that's just my unbiased opinion!

I also got in a new watch, so it's going to suck to never be able to wear it. When I do finally wear it and someone asks "is that a new watch" I will have to reply "kind of?"
