First micro brand to use the Seiko NH34?

Well that didn't take long and as predicted micro brand manufacturers have already snapped up the new Seiko GMT movement.

The watch shown was on I Like Watches, Gary who just uploaded a new video covering this proto type release.

Is this one the first or have you seen others?

i Haven’t seen any in the wild yet but I would love to transplant the movement on a new mod watch I’m thinking of doing…

I guarantee someone is already selling them, just try someone like Yobokie or elsewhere

Unless you’re in love with it, hang around there are about to be a ton more coming veeeeeery soon. 😂 There will be plenty to choose from.

as expected

I guess it will be GMT bonanza coming up with affordable GMTs.

It's the Miyota movement I'm looking forward to seeing in the micro brands.  It looks possibly a bit smaller and might bring to an end the curse of the none Rolex true GMT (i.e. anything that i) isn't a Rolex and ii) has true GMT, is frikin huge).

Seconded.  Someone wake me when a micro or even a big brand comes out with a watch with this ”Dive/GMT” style carrying a Miyota 9075.

Yeah, I actually don't like this in the slightest, it was just the fact they jumped on the GMT  movement band wagon so quickly. Like you said there will be a sh#t load more to follow 💯

The first of many...looking forward to the unique GMT's that the Microbrands have in store in the under $1,000 price point.

I'm looking forward to more options with the Miyota 9075 and the Seiko 4R34 movements.  Seiko's SSK00x series look OK, but they're pricey for a 21,600bps movement.  I guess Citizen's Bulova Wilton GMT and its partners (so far, Zeppelin Atlantic) are going for a high-end look with these Miyota 9075-based pieces.  But these both miss, IMO.

What about a Dive/GMT/WT bezel with 200m WR?  Just thinking.

·

I'm looking forward actually, to microbrands using the movement. It opens a world of possibilities for many. And I hope some don't go with the usual dive style design with an ugly gnarly jagged edged bezel. Finally, I'm hoping they can keep the dimensions small for us who have smaller wrists. Farer does this well by keeping their case dimensions to 39.5mm wide, 45mm LTL, and 10.8mm thick, using the Sellita SW330-2 movement.

The probable influx of microbrand GMTs almost makes me wish I hadn't reached my max on microbrands.
