Birth year watch 1964 Seiko Sportsmatic 5

I finally decided and pulled the trigger on this beautiful vintage Seiko after spending weeks searching the web, watch platforms and of course eBay.

I can't wait for it's arrival now from Japan. The watch was fully serviced by the seller whom I've purchased watches from in the past and he sent me a personal video of the watch being serviced and also the watch on a time grapher, +4 seconds a day it was showing, which is amazing for a 58 year old watch.

Maybe not to everyone's taste, not all watches are, it's all subjective, right?

But I figure this will be one of those watches that gets handed down to one of my sons after I'm gone because of that relationship to the year it was manufactured and the year I was born.

Wow!  I can't believe how good that looks at 58 years old!  I hope I look that good when I get to that age!

Same here. I'll definitely post a wrist shot when it arrives but you won't be seeing my wrinkly old face in the shot, maybe just my puppy instead, he's much more handsome🤣

It is a classic. I might get one like it many years from now when I get to be that old.

Make sure you go in every 3 years for a service

I'll probably be long gone before it needs another service, I'll just have to leave that as a stipulation in my will, that whoever inherits it needs to service it 🤣
