Looking for an everyday carry. Which one?

Torn on these two watches. Heart is on the romance of the mechanical, but head tells me date/auto.
I work from home and my dress standard when meeting clients is smart casual.

I'd pick the date/auto, it's a more practical watch.

Alternatively, buy the mechanical, and a nice quartz with a date for the days you don't feel ambitious enough to wind a watch. Vaer makes a quartz field watch with 100m WR, in 36mm and 40mm. I don't have a Vaer quartz watch(yet), but I do have a D5 Arctic diver, and it is well made.

Go with your head.

Suits your needs better

There is no "romance" in horology and watches don't have a "soul"😀

Date/auto. Makes it more purposeful.
