The Speedmaster 3861 looks HUGE on my 6.75 inch / 17 cm wrist

Is it me or the new Speedmaster looks humongous on my 17 cm wrist???

I do usually wear 36 to 39mm watches, and for that reason, I bought the Reduced a few years ago. In the end, I simply had to sell it. Couldn’t get pass its asymmetric case shape.

So I had high hopes given that the newer 3861 has now a slimmer case (with L2L of 47mm).

The tudor bb58 for example has more or less the same L2L and I thought it would fit similarly.

What do you guys think?

Doesn't look too big. I'd say its right at the limit, maybe a touch over. Nice watch!

looks fine to me…does it feel comfortable if it doesn’t then it’s a No… for me it’s all about the comfort and how it’s sits on my wrist…

·

To me, watches always look bigger in pictures than when I look down on my wrist so I'm sure it's fine on your 7" wrist. Since the Speedy is my grail, I'd wear it like a necklace if it was really too big for my wrist. Fortunately, my wrists are fat (like me).

·

That is right on the limit for my preference.

·

Would probably slim down on a strap. Doesn’t look too bad though. I mean it’s supposed to have notable wrist presence, so not really an issue imo.

It looks like it wears a bit large to me; but I’m used to seeing it on my 18.5cm wrist

I have smaller wrists than that but I felt fine trying it on. It wears smaller than the SMP which is also a 42mm. Maybe I’m so used to that it works for me.

·

It could be the dial size or dial/bezel ratio. It could also be the angle you're looking at your watch at. Also for photos, try having the camera further away, it definitely distorts the image to make the watches seem bigger on your wrist up close.

·

honestly, from the photos it looks a little big for my tastes.

people say it wears smaller, and I guess it does a little bit, but every time I try it on I have the same reaction with my 6.75" wrist.

I always felt the Speedy was huge on my 6.75” wrist. I had the older model with male end links. The new bracelet makes it easier to wear but I don’t think it’s worth a $3k premium over what mine listed for only three years ago.

Overall, I find that Omega models tend to feel bigger and clunkier on the wrist than other brands with similar size specs. For instance, my 42mm Rado Captain Cook wears like a dream while every 42mm Omega I’ve ever tried feels like a brick.

You can just get the bracelet, no? About 800 bucks.

Also hard when you are used to smaller watches

I have a feelings that if i already have hesitation about it now, it won’t last long in my collection

Pictures can be deceiving, but this felt perfect on my 7.75" wrist. If you don't think it looks good, then walk away! Only person that has to like it is you.

·

Just to be correct, 7" is just under 8". 17 cm is about 6.75".

·

I think it looks great but I prefer the look of larger watches vs small. I have a 17cm wrist and own the Speedmaster 3861.

Looks too big, IMO.

·

I think it looks perfect, I do like slightly larger watches though. I wouldn't worry about it looking too big unless you find it comfortable. At the end of the day as long as you think it looks good thats all that matters.

·

Looks perfect, love it.

The 1’s gone missing!did you mean “is just under 18cm.”?🤷🏻

Does it ‘feel too big’?it looks a bit over-but that could very well be the angle, size of lens, light…it doesn’t take away from the fact that its🔥
