What's Your Daily "Type" Of Watch?

I sport a chronograph watch as my daily, not because I need it, just because I prefer the looks of a busy dial. I'm curious to know what my fellow WatchCrunchers rock - share below!

Hard to choose when you have 30 watches.

·

Haha, fair enough! Thank works 👍 what digital watch does it for you on the daily then?

I wish I had The ability to have more than just 4 poll options 😄 dress watch as a daily is nice!

That’s fair, and a good dilemma to have as a whole 😄 but there must be a “type” that you gravitate towards more than the rest, no?

·

I really do not have a daily driver. I usually rotate thru the whole collection what I feel like wearing for the day depending on the attire or nature of work or activity for the day. But mostly just what I feel like wearing when I wake up in the morning. 😂

You had four choices and consciously omitted the style of watch that accounts for approximately 85% of all watches ever sold. Seems to be a problem with the poll function, obviously.

I think that you need to apologize to the entire horological community for your transgression against stylistic norms.

My daily was always a diver but have found great convenience since getting a chronograph I like. At work I do a lot of timing patients. Having that ability quickly accessible without much thought has turned out to be very handy.

·

So I picked GMT, but it varies from day to day.  I wear divers, pilots, dress, chronographs, all of that.  At the end of the day, however, I have found that I really like having the GMT complication, and I miss it when it’s not there.

·

I rotate...mood?...what I have to do the for the day be remote? be in the office?

·

I tend to wear a different watch each day, though I have more divers than others. I have a couple of field watches, a chronograph, and 2 g-shocks.

·

What does a GS time only with a date complication count as?  For me it's that one.

·

I dont have a daily, but the watch I wear slightly more than any other watch is a GMT.

Perfect! Then it sounds like you two have it figured out! I've noticed that if you rush out and buy all the timepieces you lust after, if you can afford them all, you can "fizzle out" in a way. For us, unless we're pressured by time/availability/etc. we like to pair our purchases with milestone life events (like a birthday, a promotion, an anniversary, etc.) which ties the timepiece to that special moment in time. OK, so maybe I'm a romantic, but whatever you get the idea 😂

I like that idea...we have those coming up so continuing to narrow down...yes I have a spreadsheet lol!

Nice! I'll assume that means you're more often going to be sporting your divers 👍

Yes, I do tend to wear a diver more often than any other type.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with that! In fact, someone that sports a pocket watch on their wrist is far more interesting to speak with than what I'd be wearing 😊

😂  thanks

I rotate between these three although this summer I’ve worn my Explorer II more because the white dial looks so good in the sun.

Beautiful trio! And also does very little in me trying to figure out which one you prefer 😂 seems like the Explorer, which technically I suppose can be considered a Tool Watch AND GMT...what have I gotten myself into!?

Thanks for sharing!

Fair enough! And I can totally see the Datejust being so versatile and serving so many different roles. There are people that would absolutely scoff at someone wearing a dress watch with jeans (and many other watch/attire/event combos that I can't come up with just now) but I'm a firm believer of wearing what makes you happy, always 😊

Two beauties! I do love Sinn, I've been halfway tempted to see about picking one up. Especially the ones that share a lot of DNA with the Breitling Navitimer. Thanks for sharing 👍

So I have one diver, one chronograph, and one gmt. And I rotate so each day is one of the 3, with a gshock sprinkled in there sometimes. So no vote from me since they are all my dailies. I guess E would be all of the above and that's what I'd choose.

Haha, vote "E" works! Out of curiosity, what are the watches that fill your rotational selection?

Phenomenal Sea/Air/Land (SEAL) collection!

Yours too, great collection! I really like the Grand Seiko. A dress watch is what’s missing from mine. A Tank would be the one I go for but the idea of not wearing it very much usually stops me from pulling the trigger.

Fantastic collection! Definitely spotting a theme (Land/Sea/Air) and one I've also strived to hit myself 🤝

A tank would be a great add! My favorite white dial) and (coincidentally with Roman numerals) is the White Roman datejust 36. That's the white dial dress I want to add to my collection.
